Majority of Ontarians pushed back on playground closures. Yesterday we put 2 young parents on ventilators. They got COVID through workplace transmission. Children need safe workplaces for their parents even more than playgrounds. Please be angry & care about unsafe workplaces.

I hope there are a hundred academic papers written on the atrociousness of government communication during this time. I'll read them all, even the boring ones

@Hymie_Anisman asked me to go into his office to retrieve something from his desk. @AbizaidAlfie and I discovered a piece of toast that was likely abandoned in March 2020 (along with his passport!) Not a speck of mold on it! Preserved for posterity to memorialize the pandemic!

I've never been more concerned about the threat of #COVID19 in TO. I'd love to say we're ready to reopen, but today it's better to delay until the time is right. Let's keep doing all we can to protect our city so we can get back to brighter days sooner: bit.ly/37ogY4G

11/ And as always, it is important to: *Stay humble - we don't have all the answers. *Be open minded to new/emerging data & adapt policy in real time to reflect this. *Balance proceeding cautiously with forward momentum. *Keep BS 💩 detectors on at all times.

But I'll say it again: we need mental health care to be accessible - financially, logistically, culturally. We need care to be compassionate. We need voluntary care to be prioritized. We need care to be effective. Too often, for too many people in Canada, it's not.

Attitudes are changing around #mentalhealth, but stigma still exists. Now more than ever, every action counts. RT this, be part of that change and help spread awareness. #BellLetsTalk #MentalHealthIsHealth

I spoke with @CBCTheNational today on the importance of decriminalization and safer supply. We need to stop punishing people who use drugs & offer safer alternatives that meet substance users where they're at. It's a health issue, start treating it like one. #cdnpoli #ReduceHarm

There is no vaccine for poverty. There is no vaccine for racism. There is no vaccine for sexism. There is no vaccine for ablism. There is no vaccine for Islamophobia. There is no vaccine for Anti-Semitism. There is no vaccine for homophobia. We got work to do, y'all. Every day.

It’s the 10th year of #BellLetsTalk and, while we’ve come a long way from where the conversation on mental health started, there’s still more work to do to end stigma & make sure Canadians can get the support they need. So let’s keep talking, Canada!
