Forecasting Maine’s Democratic Delegate Selection and what it means for Jackson, Bellows and Shah using the delegate written statements analyzed through the latest LLM (ChatGPT 5.6 Sol) 🔮 This may be one of the first public attempts to forecast a political nominating convention using thousands of statements submitted directly by prospective delegates through language analysis by LLMs. How the model works: To replace Graham Platner as the Democratic Senate nominee, Maine Democrats will hold a special nominating convention with 601 voting delegates. Of those, 500 delegates are being selected through county-level meetings across Maine’s 16 counties. More than 3,700 applicants submitted written statements explaining why they should be chosen and, in many cases, what they want from the eventual nominee. The model evaluates each applicant in two separate stages. First, it estimates the applicant’s likelihood of being selected as a delegate. It considers the strength and specificity of the statement, party and community experience, elected or organizational roles, local credibility, geographic representation and competition against other applicants in the same county. Second, it estimates the applicant’s probability of supporting Troy Jackson, Shenna Bellows or Nirav Shah. Signals include explicit endorsements, candidate-specific praise, Platner and labor continuity, economic populism, election administration, reproductive rights, electability, public-health leadership, executive competence and appeal to independent or Republican voters. Statements containing only generic language about unity, Democratic values or defeating Susan Collins are left substantially uncertain rather than being forced toward a candidate. These two components are combined into an Expected Delegate Contribution: Probability of being selected × probability of supporting each candidate The model then simulates the selection of the exact number of delegates allocated to each county. All 3,732 applicants were scored, with high-impact, explicit-support and ambiguous cases subjected to additional review. Results among the 500 county delegates After probabilistically resolving uncertain intent: Troy Jackson: 242.6 Nirav Shah: 148.6 Shenna Bellows: 108.8 Before resolving uncertain intent, approximately 82.3 of the 500 expected delegates cannot be confidently mapped to a candidate from their statements alone. The full convention contains 601 delegates. The other 101 are Democratic State Committee members, who are not included because they did not submit comparable statements. If all 601 delegates vote, 301 votes would constitute a majority. Jackson therefore enters the broader convention model with a considerable advantage among the 500 county-selected delegates, but the unmodeled State Committee bloc, convention attendance, candidate slates, personal relationships and later-ballot transfers could still materially affect the final outcome. The follow-up post shows the county-by-county results, including the delegates whose intent could not be confidently mapped.

@liquidatedxxx Interesting stuff! Can you have it simulate the exhaustive election results such that it simulates each round of voting by the delegates and model out who gains the most share of delegates over each round until finals?

Many people believe the McGregor fight was rigged. A prediction market's order book is a public record of what informed traders know and when they know it. As prediction markets become the most liquid venue to trade any event, they're also the most likely place for informed money to show up. During the one-minute match, there's no significant evidence that anybody was trading on this information. This isn't definitive proof that the fight was clean; only that if it was rigged, nobody traded on knowing it would end like this.

Why does the text on the newspaper McConnell’s staff claim he’s holding look AI generated? The text is blurry and the tag on his shirt is blurred. Also, if he’s in the hospital, why is there no IV connected to him to monitor his health? This is such bullshit. His staff are liars.

@GollumGekko1 This turned into more of a bet on rules vs reality, I guess going forward reality and majority consensus will overrule for disputed resolutions. Precedents might not really matter anymore

Polymarket team clarified that Ronaldo crying at the World Cup would count This was obviously a clarification to reality, HOWEVER It very much highlights how important writing good well though through rules is The rules here were essensially overturned, as they required a CLEARLY visible tear By clarifying this way they have changed the rules and rugged the people who read the rules If they clarified the other way, the people who bet on reality, that is that Ronaldo cried at the World Cup, the people betting on reality would have been rugged Either way sucks - The solution is to maybe account for what happens if he cries but without tears flowing? This has happened before and 5 extra minutes thinking about rules when creating the market could have prevented this

Binance is arguably the world's largest crypto exchange. Feb 2026: Polymarket lists a small 5-minute Bitcoin contract. Since then, Binance order flow spikes in the final seconds before settlement; prices revert soon after. New paper with David Dai and Shihao Yu ( @ShihaoY ): Settlement Manipulation in Prediction Markets (papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…)🧵 The finding, up front: Traders push Bitcoin's price in the final seconds to decide the contract. That push makes the price less informative, yet Bitcoin's market more liquid. Market makers are largely insulated; ordinary traders lose $7.6M in two months.

Always happy to hear info/alpha or confirm it with other users in the prediction market space, and tip appropriately when possible depending on the info/liquidity/ev%. You can DM me here or Discord: xenypm (prefer Discord for faster responses) However, I'm not listening to any more crypto-related ones. Too many degenerates giving "plays" when they don't have any reasoning as to why For this play the alpha provider told me to put 10k when it was at 70c... and then told me to double down right now.. and expects at 25% cut for providing it It might still hit of course, but alpha that nearly dips 40% is not alpha, especially in an asset related field Lesson learned I guess! Will be selling at a loss because this is a market I know nothing about

I agree the prefs are not directly collateralized to BTC and the dividend is technically optional. There is nothing legally binding everything which makes everything risky af. It’s more so tied to trust in Saylor and his execution. The moment Saylor decides not to pay the dividend, STRC tanks immensely and trust is permanently damaged. Selling BTC isn’t the end to the strategy if its value holds when he sells. Obv it will tank a bunch when he does inevitably sell but if its value holds over time after from believing buyers it becomes sustainable and validates the thesis/narrative that BTC can be a store of value and a liquid asset, bullish for STRC if this thesis becomes true over time. If he wasn’t taking this digital credit narrative seriously I don’t think he would be changing the dividend rate here or changing the terms of how dividend could be determined in the future, he would just let it be stale and continue to push narrative of “BTC go up, you all should just believe and pay up a premium for my products since I am pushing it up.”

Good to hear disagreements! I firmly believe STRC won't reach par again though, even with like 5b in USD reserves. The issue is mostly that these prefs aren't actually collateralized nor is the dividend guaranteed. Once it goes down this much, all trust is lost in what is basically a junk bond equivalent. There's also the risk of Bitcoin going down a lot (to like 20k, where his assets are basically equivalent to debt + prefs) and Saylor not selling BTC to cover the 100 dollar liquidation preference of these prefs, as selling basically all his Bitcoin would be the end of MicroStrategy. I don't believe this shows he's taking the digital credit thing seriously, just some nonsense to try to instill confidence. He has repeatedly broken his promises, rejects old KPIs and creates new ones, etc

Pretty much just a load of bullshit - The USD reserve is not large enough to instill investor confidence in the preferred stocks - These stock buyback programs are never happening, they have no money and surely they're not actually selling BTC for this? - Who cares about raising the STRC dividend to 12% when it's still down 20% - These BTC sale guidelines can be overruled by the board The reality is simply: - STRC likely won't ever hit par again so there's no way to further issue STRC to buy BTC; 12% dividends do still have to be paid - Strategy therefore has no way of buying BTC other than by ATMing MSTR at this terrible mNAV MSTR holders will pretty much have to pay for Strategy's failing operations in perpetuity

As we close in on the final five hours of voting in NYC, the markets currently assign Claire Valdez an 82% chance of winning the NY-07 primary. As one of the biggest Valdez Y holders, I personally think fair value is 95+.

@penguin_pmkt Well first you have to graduate to get on the stage and then from there get to honors so just that already skews the sample size twice from your original class. And then after that get past the college graduate statistic where girls ratio guys across the board. -EV imo
