Anyone who's flown to Europe or Asia from USA (or vice versa) knows that when you watch the in-flight tracker screen, it shows you're making a giant rainbow-arc shape over Greenland/Alaska.
You've probably wondered: "That's weird, why don't they just fly in a straight line? Wouldn't that be the easiest, most fuel-efficient way to get from point A to point B?"
Don't worry - you are not crazy!
Here's what's actually going on with these nonsensical flight paths, explained by Terry Eicher 👇

For over 30 years, Toshiyuki and Yasuko Kuroki shared a happy life together in Japan. But at age 52, Yasuko lost her sight due to complications from diabetes. The sudden blindness left her deeply depressed and isolated, shattering their retirement dreams of traveling together.
Determined to bring joy back into her life, Toshiyuki came up with a heartfelt plan. Over two years, he cleared land, cut down cedar trees, and planted thousands of vibrant pink shibazakura (moss phlox) flowers. These blooms are not only strikingly beautiful but also powerfully fragrant, allowing Yasuko to fully experience the arrival of spring through their sweet scent.
What began as a labor of love for his wife soon transformed their property into a stunning floral paradise. The garden became so popular that it drew up to 7,000 visitors per day during peak season. Toshiyuki eventually left dairy farming behind to dedicate himself entirely to maintaining the garden.
Thanks to the constant flow of visitors and the beautiful, fragrant blooms, Yasuko regained her connection to the world and found renewed happiness. Their touching story has since inspired millions worldwide as a beautiful testament to deep, enduring love and unwavering devotion.

English

@SheffWodin @MichaelCurates It’s 25 years since I left Ingbirchworth… I can’t remember my full address, but I always classed it as Barnsley with it having an 01226 phone number.
Never mind.
Let’s move on.

@RobWatson1912 @MichaelCurates Addresses in Penistone do say Penistone, Sheffield
English

@MichaelCurates She should move a few miles down the road to Sheffield if she’s ashamed to say she’s from Barnsley.

Remember the Muslim woman who was calling out her own Muslim men not long ago?
Well, because that went viral, she’s received backlash from her own community, which just proved her point.
In this video addressing it she says: “You wonder why there is so much Islamophobia? No wonder why they fucking hate us, look what they do to their own women!”
Big respect to her for continuing to speak out 👏🏻 👏🏻
We all know how they treat women. They know it, we know it, and everyone knows it.

Because they’re all japanese. They can agree on a greater good for its own people instead of getting caught up in racism disguised as politics.

@my3sons73 @SimpPolice911 It was suicide. It was very tragic. The fact that he could get into the space to obtain the airplane in the first place is the privilege. It sucks he lost his life to his mental illness.
