During the Ottoman period, Muslims enjoyed performing all kinds of mutilations. Ears, noses, lips, tongues, breasts, and genitals were primarily cut off. Not just those, though. Let's recall here the Saint Raphael of Mytilene, who was hanged from a tree and had his lower jaw cut off, while the twelve-year-old martyr Irene was roasted in a barrel on the Tuesday of Easter in the year 1463, ten years after the fall of Constantinople.
In many cases, the severed body parts "adorned" the warrior collection of the janissary. The pashas gave bakshish (tips) to every "brave" Muslim warrior according to how many ears of "infidel" Christians he brought back. He himself confirmed his bravery and "manliness" among his peers by having a "komboloi" (worry beads) made from the nipples of breasts he had cut off from women. The bravest man was the one with the longest komboloi after a massacre and looting.
Blinding with various sharp objects was also common. This was particularly frequent during periods of massacres and atrocities. Many unfortunate Christians remained blind for the rest of their lives because they had the misfortune of a horde of janissaries passing through their land. The Egyptians under Ibrahim Pasha were especially notorious for this crime.
Many times Christian captives were placed in front of cannons that were fired, turning them into human shreds of flesh. In other cases, they were tied to galleys that sailed in opposite directions and were torn apart. Dismemberment of victims also occurred with horses.
Indeed, Islam is the religion of peace.

In 1822, Muslims captured two Greek Christian women and attempted to force them to convert to Islam. The women refused. As punishment, they were smeared with honey on their heads and tied up in the open, exposed to the stings of wasps as well as to the abuse of passersby. The wife of Zafeirakis was built into the wall of the Church of Hagia Sophia in Thessaloniki up to her neck. She was left there for days, exposed to the entertainment of the wild mob that gathered to curse her and strike her protruding head with sticks. She did not waver for a moment. Strengthened until her last breath by prayer, she never abandoned her Christian faith. Her martyrdom lasted five days. A passing gypsy woman, seeking to hasten her end, threw a large stone at her head. Thus, the blessed woman delivered her heroic soul into the hands of God, Whom she had never denied. The other Greek Christian woman, Maria, also refused to renounce her faith. For this, Ebub Lubut enclosed her in a sack with deadly snakes, where she was martyred. The historian Eustathios Stougiannakis writes: “The acute venom that diffused into the veins of the martyr from the bites, however, killed her in a sweet lethargy. Praying until the last moment for her executioners, she invoked the Most High and the Virgin.” The lifeless bodies of these holy women were eventually thrown into the sea.

Remember the selfless sacrifice of Marine Navy Cross recipient, Second Lieutenant Michael Patrick McCormick, who was killed in action against Communist forces in South Vietnam in 1969. He displayed extraordinary heroism in combat by assaulting and silencing three enemy bunkers and, later by rushing into a hail of enemy fire to reach a wounded Marine. He was mortally wounded. Michael gave his life in the service of his nation. He is a true hero who will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Only the dumbest Americans can’t realize that annihilating a terrorist anti-America regime is saving America and every American life! Wanting more money in one’s pocket book temporarily versus being able to live in a world without nuke threats is much more valuable than any money— and once Trump knocks out that threat, it’s a guarantee that Americans will see a huge return to lower gas prices, lower cost of living, higher tax returns, lower taxes, and many other Trump policy effects that benefit every American longterm. Today, after ten years of fighting, I have reached a settlement agreement with the United States Government in my case regarding the Russian Hoax FBI lawfare against me.
Nothing can fully compensate for the hell that my family and I have endured over these many years—the relentless attacks, the destruction of reputations, the financial ruin, and the profound personal toll inflicted upon us all. No amount of money or formal resolution can erase the pain caused by a prosecution that should never have been brought.
This ordeal stemmed from partisan government officials in a coordinated effort to pursue an innocent man as part of a broader campaign to undermine @realDonaldTrump and his administration. It was a relentless, partisan pursuit that weaponized federal law enforcement in an audacious and unjust manner.
Yet this settlement goes far in demonstrating that the current Department of Justice, under the leadership of President Trump, Attorney General Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Blanche, and other dedicated departmental leaders, is committed to bringing accountability for the bad acts of those partisan actors. It marks a meaningful step toward righting a profound wrong.
There should never again be such a brazen attempt to weaponize federal law enforcement against political opponents or innocent citizens. It is essential that we remain guardians of the rule of law. A huge part of that guardianship is accountability, holding those who abuse power to answer for their actions.
It is not this Department of Justice that created this crisis of politicized justice, but they are doing right by truly pursuing justice now—ensuring that the facts prevail and that such abuses are not repeated. This resolution, while imperfect, brings to an end this chapter of injustice. This small measure of accountability should help the nation heal regarding the abuses of the past. It allows my family and me to move forward.
My family and I remain grateful for the support of so many who stood by us. It was their support and our faith in God Almighty that sustained us and gave us the strength to endure. I will continue to advocate for the restoration of integrity in all our institutions.
