the idea that modern Palestinians are descended in a linear fashion from ancient Canaanites is complete nonsense. Any decent anthropologist will tell you that Palestinian families have their origins in places everywhere from Sudan to the Arabian desert to Bosnia. Their family names and appearances reflect that. Since that nonsense was in Sheldon’s very first paragraph, there was no reason to read the rest of it. He has no idea what he’s talking about. But it’s also odd for someone who’s a libertarian who claims to be for free immigration to care one way or the other about people’s ancient origins as opposed to their current rights.
