Me? I want to hang out at the friendly local gaming store. I want to play or even run TTRPG's in the back room and war games in the front room. I want to be known for being at 3 locations: the Parish Church, the Game store, and at home, painting minis, smoking grub and reading books. And maybe taking my kids camping once a month.

The big problem I see with most of these topics is that people overly rely on bumper sticker thoughts. All too often, people want a 5 word answer or solution to every problem. But what we really need, is a thoughtful thorough understanding and solution, but that uses way too many mental resources for many.

It annoys me when conservatives defend college or medical debt because of personal responsibility. That will never convince the average voter when the debt is huge and in some sense extorted. You might think people’s moral intuitions should scale that way, but why would they?

If I have supreme power over the land? I'd renovate the healthcare system by banning health insurance companies and regulating the price of medicines. Or I'd make drug use for adults legal but serving minors to be treated as 1st class murder/mass murder/treason. If convicted, death penalty to be completed by firing squad in 7 days. Or I'd ban cigarettes and lift restrictions on pipe and cigar tobacco and alcohol. Or I'd give guns equal rights to women, since somehow everyone agrees on that one.

Yeah, it's standard for all American buildings, the doors normally open into a room and not into a hall. You can tell the door leads to a closet if the door does open out into the hallway, and these are usually narrower or bifold doors. Personally, I like the Japanese sliding doors, as they are the least intrusive. But many Americans don't like unusual/different styles because they don't like change. My ability to cope with change is probably some factor/aspect of the autism spectrum, efficiency and optimization being the focus, but I'm not going to claim something like that.

A Dunkin' cashier corrected my Japanese. I flew from Tokyo to Newark to practice English. At the counter, I ordered one donut in English, every word rehearsed on the plane. She replied in perfect Japanese. Two years in Osaka, study abroad. Startled, I answered in my politest keigo, Japan's formal speech. She gently corrected it. My keigo. My language. I flew six thousand miles to fail Japanese. She gave me a free donut. "For effort," she said. In Japanese.

🇯🇵 I’m Japanese. Question for everyone around the world. Japan has traditional family crests called Kamon—almost like family logos passed down through generations. 🌸⚔️ Would you want your own Kamon? 👍 Yes 👎 No What symbol would represent your family?

Japan is pro children, people just struggle to afford them. The youth are struggling with just one person. But now there is a new tax for people who are in a certain age category and not married with kids. I didn't read the details. Basically you can get financial assistance for your kids or you can financially assist others who are having kids.

A stranger in Texas gave me one shrimp. Gas station, 6 a.m. He was buying live bait shrimp, called me "boss," and held one out. In Japan, refusing a gift is rude. I bowed and accepted it like a diploma. His name is Roger. He lives in my hotel sink. This morning, housekeeping found him and called the front desk. I panicked and said the first thing I thought of. Now Roger is registered as an emotional support shrimp.

Look at this map of the Tokyo region. The narrow orange part is Tokyo — Japan's capital. Above it in blue: Saitama. To the side in green: Ibaraki. Both are left-wing strongholds aggressively pushing radical immigration policies. Just the other day, the mayor who opposed this in Ibaraki was killed — his body found hanging over a drainage canal. Even Japan is becoming dangerous. Decent people of the world, unite. Protect our peaceful lives from the extremists who want to destroy everything.

America has finally discovered the magic of Japanese-style mayo. Hellmann’s is now selling “Japanese Inspired Mayonnaise” in the U.S. Japanese mayo is rich, slightly tangy, and packed with umami. In Japan, mayonnaise is not just a condiment. Fried chicken, noodles, okonomiyaki, sushi. Some people even put it straight on white rice. There are even people who add it to miso soup. It may sound strange. But Japanese mayo is not just a condiment. Once you get hooked, it becomes the kind of thing that makes you nervous the moment it disappears from your fridge. 🇯🇵
