@TheStoneFile Vast majority don't want 4am sunrises or 430pm sunsets! Most want daylight for their free time, and thats in the evenings!!!

President Trump is once again pushing for permanent Daylight Saving Time... and it may well go down as one of the worst mistakes he makes. 'Natural Time' matters - this is why... ko-fi.com/post/Natural-T…

@RealDrJaneRuby So why do so many suffer Seasonal Affective Disorder in standard time??? Free time is vastly the majority in the evening, and you whackadoodles want 430pm sunsets. Nobody wants that misery.

Make Standard Time Permanent 🕰️⏰ Daylight savings time is not healthy — darkness in the morning is not healthy for your circadian rhythm. The government should never have interfered with modifying it in the first place. Most of the rest of the world is on standard time. Is Trump trying to screw everything up?

@ABoleynGirl Fck no!!! Who TF wants 430pm sunsets!! Your not going to get up at 4am to mow your yard, just like your not going to want to try and grill your dinner in the dark.

@92michael So you want kids going home or participating in after school events "in the dark"? I dont get up early to recreate, I do that after work. And you want to thrust 430pm sunsets on us! And dont give us that "we tried it before" crap...that was 50 years ago and we have evolved.

So far me? I live in Colorado and on December 21 the shortest day of the year, under standard time the sunrise time is 0717 am Under permanent Daylight time that will be: 0817 The farther north you live the later that time gets. So, if you live in Seattle for example that time would be Standard time: 0750 Daylight time: 0850 The only thing this will result in is more morning traffic accidents and people getting run over. And kids going to school in the dark.

You are being duped! By stupid people! Instead of eliminating Day Light Savings Time they are making it permanent. Trust me you will not like it!!! If you live in a northern state? Winters are going to suck even harder. You will get an extra hour of darkness in the mornings. What they should do is make Standard Time permanent and trash Day Light Savings time once and for all. “Trump Indicates He'll Sign Bill Making Daylight Saving Time Permanent” zerohedge.com/political/trum…

@kaylynn1921 @James_K_Bishop So you want them trying to play baseball or run track/cross country in the dark? When do most sports and extra-curricular activities take place...AFTER SCHOOL. And if so concerned about "waiting for the bus, then maybe parents should be there for their kids. Adjust the hours!!

@James_K_Bishop The bus I was behind just after it picked up kids at their bus stop on the side of a road in the pitch black on DST in winter. An hour later if we had kept standard time, it would have been light.

@James_K_Bishop There are only so many hours of daylight in a given season. All Daylight Savings Time does is move the clock dial.

@russdiamond For some reason the advocates for DST annoy me more than anything. I think it’s because it’s not based on anything biological or science related. It’s an artificial construct and beyond stupid to advocate for it. Ugh.

Stop changing clocks = GOOD. Permanent Daylight Saving time = BAD. It was tried in 1974 as an experiment and was so unpopular Congress cancelled the experiment before it was over. Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Permanent Standard Time (my HB119) is the healthier, more geographically appropriate choice. And it's already federally approved. @SaveStandard @SupportStandard

@LoveGod4528 @jethrothekenite So explain why seasonal affective disorder ramps up during standard time??? And no, you cannot use shorter days for an answer!!! 4 am sunrises are ridiculous! 430 pm sunsets are more ridiculous. Most people want their daylight AFTER work or school.

@jethrothekenite …And Vitamin D production is the most efficient at noon. Most lunch breaks are at noon, but DST noon is actually at 11am. It’s a slight aside but these little things add up. When health declines even more, people will wonder why…

This is a step in the wrong direction, actually. According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, "current evidence best supports the adoption of year-round standard time, which aligns best with human circadian biology." Morning light > for health than evening light.
Governor Jeff Landry@LAGovJeffLandry

Out of all the great things President @realDonaldTrump has done, this should go toward the top of the list! Who could be opposed to more daylight?? Let’s get this bipartisan bill to the President’s desk!

Going to Permanent Daylight Saving Time would be unwise. It was tried in the 70s already. Pointless to do again. Railroad companies brought America its current four mainland time zones in the 1880s as a way to standardize arrival times for trains. In 1918, the Standard Time Act fully enshrined that system into law. And, in 1966, Congress passed the Uniform Time Act. Arizona opted out of the UTA in 1968 because, uh, NO ONE HERE WANTED THE SUN UP IN JUNE AT 8:42pm! Without my Legislative ancestors opting out of Saving Time way back when, we’d still have the sun up at 8pm in late June in Phoenix and it wouldn’t be entirely dark here until 9:13pm. I love not changing my clocks ever. One of the many amazing things about why I love it here. All that said - ditch Saving Time completely and #StandardizeStandard @SaveStandard

@mike_datlof Agree. If anything go back to standard time. I'd rather the sun come up at 4:30 in the summer than 8:30 in the winter. No thanks.

@JohnMHawk @RealEJAntoni The sun is "overhead" the moment t is rises. How many outdoor events are in the morning? You're "standard time" would eliminate natural light in the evenings, that many enjoy for recreation. And why does seasonal affective disorder become prevalent in "standard time"?

@Shenanigans726 @RealEJAntoni That's called "winter." If noon is when the sun's overhead and you're getting a 4:30 sunset, then you had a 7:30 sunrise, so nobody getting up at 6:30 was "wasting daylight." Sun shines the same number of hours a day, not matter what you set your clock to.

We tried permanent Daylight Savings Time in the 70's and it was such a disaster that it was repealed in less than a year - the better choice is to lock the clock on permanent Standard Time: dailysignal.com/2026/05/21/tim…
