Stop responding to people who are asking for a recount by saying "that's what Republicans did, we sound like them," as if that's a valid reason to not pursue simple and reasonable efforts to ensure that the votes in swing states were properly tabulated. In 2020, Republicans claimed fraud in advance. They brought 60+ lawsuits to protest supposed election fraud, nearly all of which were defeated. Despite that, they rioted at the Capitol and proceeded to claim election interference all the way until late into the night on this recent Election Day. We are nothing like them. This election day, our voting process was interrupted by dozens of documented bomb threats, leading to polling site disruptions and voter intimidation. The results of the swing state votes in several states have Democratic senators getting more votes than Trump, while those states went Blue. The number of undervotes would be unprecedented. It is not conspiratorial be any measure, to simply want due diligence to ensure the vote tabulation methods were sound, especially given Elon Musk's technological access as well as Donald Trump's many pre-election claims that he was told he "already has the votes." No one is claiming the election was not fair, but there are enough anomalies to ask that the Democrats make a modicum of an effort to confirm the results, especially with the dire consequences of a second Trump term. The efforts to shame people who want and deserve to be assured that their votes were counted, just because the other side has trafficked in phony election fraud accusations—isn't a good reason not to do everything possible to test the system. It's important. It impacts the future of this nation. We deserve #SwingStateHandRecounts.
