It’s official!! After 32 amazing years, I am retiring at the end of this week! It seems surreal, but I am ready to see what this next phase of my life will look like!

@davidporas I wish something like this happened at OAME or that I could somehow join virtually. Sounds amazing!

Hope to see some of you there! I'll be there to do a bit of sharing of how to use the free Polypad Virtual Manipulatives in Desmos Classroom to enhance math instruction and promote student understanding.

@realJ_Mitchell I missed that part of the new announcement. It’s unfortunate because it seems like it’s being done to ensure financial literacy but there is LOTS of that in the 3E and 4E courses.

Students in #OntEd who struggled in mathematics used to be able to take MTH1W, MEL3E, MEL4E in order to satisfy their graduation requirements. Not anymore... This doesn't seem like a good move.

@Hartamophone DQ on Merivale opening was always my “first” sign of summer — hard realizing that tradition will not continue

A fun trig ratio “treasure hunt” today in Math 10. Question “O” made students think… they’re not used to having all the sides so they could pick any trig ratio. #ITeachMath @Maths4Everyone

@cmmteach That’s the most beautiful bouquet I’ve ever seen — almost too pretty to eat. How do they taste?

Currently questioning whether perpendicular and orthogonal mean the same thing when talking about lines in 3D space. Is it enough for the direction vectors to be perpendicular? Can skew lines be considered perpendicular? Curious to hear what people think.

Some notes from Saturday morning @O34ME session with @pgliljedahl on #ThinkingClassroom. Saw the banner in action. Saw a new consolidation activity/style. Thought lots about assessment & evaluation. Thanks for 3 great days Peter!

@StephanieDunc30 @wheeler_laura @O34ME @pgliljedahl Peter mentioned the original book (orange one) was going to have a 2nd edition soon (not sure time frame) & banner would be part of that. He also mentioned a handbook that would incl banner (starting it in the fall so probably released a year later).

@wheeler_laura @O34ME @pgliljedahl You’re the fourth one on my feed who was at this PD and posted about using banners. I get the general premise but want to know more. Were these ideas mentioned in the second book or did I miss them in the first? Where can I dive into the smaller nuances that were prev overlooked?
