I’ve never tried to identify a MBTA car before, but there’s a number over the door that says “1643”.

@MBTA, uh, I’m on the Red Line going inbound from Davis, and a few minutes ago, a bunch of water leaked out from the ceiling of my car. Glad I wasn’t sitting in that area.

@somershade1 I’m recently a Somerville resident again after a gap of five years and more recently fled to Mastodon. I like it except I’m missing some content, such as your meeting notes.

If you have seen something akin to live tweeting public meetings on some other (modern) platform, could you please shoot me a link to a good one? The lack of moderation and community standards here are getting to me, but I still haven't seen anything else that looks usable.

I recently found a silver lining to my awkwardness and anxiety around interviewing for jobs. I would never get through the interview process at a “hardcore” company, and that’s a feature, not a bug.

I walked in the first door I saw with a “VOTE” sign, tried to check in, and was directed to walk around to the other side of the building and go in that door. I checked in, got my ballot, filled it out, and fed it into the machine after someone verified where I got it from. 2/3

I voted! No lines at my location in late morning, so it was pretty easy *except* I didn’t realize two precincts were voting at the same location. Seems like not the best setup… 1/3

And yes, I’m including my first job in a 24-hr diner worked for minimum wage and usually no tips. But I got a free pie if I worked a double-shift or came in to cover someone who called in sick. 2/2

This is painful to watch, but as a fellow engineer, I’m taking a moment to appreciate every job I’ve ever had, because I feel like I was treated with more dignity than I would’ve been at any of his companies. 1/2
