When it comes to women in science, senior male colleagues often mask their love for a 'damsel in distress' story as 'mentorship'. They feel like 'saviours' on a 'rescue mission', only till a woman colleague displays confidence, capability, and charge. The litmus test of their approach is not when a woman in science needs help, it is when she does not.🧪

I absolutely hate it when women are tasked with holding trays. It’s abominable. And I cannot understand perfectly objective “(male) scientists” being blind to this enforcement of gender roles. No one objects, no one cares. Can we see young men carrying the trays next time?
