Not sure. My theory is he probably wants to buy time and drag on the case hoping that witnesses give up or until PG Martha Imalwa retires.
Plus, they living a better life awaiting trial with access to internet and stuff.

@ShinOvene One would think that Shanghala of all people would want this case to be finalized quickly. Why is he delaying?
English

It’s not the state’s fault. Shanghala and others have been delaying this case for years. Technicality after technicality. To a point that co-accused, Gustavo called out Shanghala for delay tactics.

Justice delayed is truly justice denied. If you can't speed up the trial process, give people bail. It is very inhumane to keep someone incarcerated for a whole year man.

The government has yet to build or upgrade at least five district or intermediate hospitals it promised at Ondangwa, Nkurenkuru, Otjiwarongo, Gobabis and Windhoek – in one case, 19 years ago.

51% is another way to push interest to few connected. We don't have numbers like SA to play that card.
I doubt Elon will give 51% of his company in Namibia. A government controlled tech industry is not sustainable in long run. Competition might push MTC, Telecom to do better

Won’t ignoring 51% ownership open up a can of worms? Is that not sufficient enough?

Our editorial last year on Starlink: namibian.com.na/starlink-no-na…
"[Minister] Theofelus appears to have ignored potential cost benefit information. It is fair to assume she simply relied on the regulation that 51% ownership should be Namibian (better still, BEE)".

From overcoming colonial rule to achieving self-determination, central to this progress has been a free press, which plays a role in holding power to account.

EDITORIAL | It is a bitter irony that a government that has the power to dish out fishing quotas, oil blocks and mineral rights to a select few struggles to maintain an effective justice system. namibian.com.na/when-justice-i…

@TheNamibian has put out a deeply touching tribute to Prosecutor Justine Shiweda, whose life was tragically taken by Dr Fly and others. It’s impossible to read without feeling the weight of such a profound loss. May her courageous soul rest in peace.
