@Zaneric_Mic @ignideus If they are able to unga bunga with their cards it’s because they high rolled or you messed up. Thats just dragon. No point complaining about it. The deck is just high roll. It feels bad on ladder because ladder rewards high roll and power more than consistency

@Zaneric_Mic @ignideus Cystals for example is going to force them to heal unless they want to die to the deck high lethal range. It’s about forcing plays out of them. Also not all lists play Azurifrit because that’s a lot of cards in deck that want super evos. I’d rather they us super on him than ertnz

@Zaneric_Mic @ignideus If they are using their heavy board wipe then they aren’t hitting you for heavy damage or healing. If they use gal spell they are either weakening the ward and healing or hitting you for damage and not healing. Erntz isn’t just unga bunga all the time

@Zaneric_Mic @ignideus That’s a different card that handles the board differently how can you possibly compare erntz to Albert. They are also in different classes that you have to handle differently. Comparing apples to oranges man

@ShinobiYukiVT @ignideus yea but will you say that the counter to albert enhance 9 is just aggro them before that ? no right ? the answer is either healing to more than 12 or put ward that is bigger than 3 defense

@TempDothacker @Zaneric_Mic @ignideus Yeah unfortunately ladder is always going to be a less enjoyable experience because it rewards power more than consistency. There isn’t much you can do to fix that though from what I can tell. No game has a good ladder system

Dragon is very strong and straight forward- but it's also got very obvious weaknesses that makes it difficult to bring in a competitive format where people know what you can bring. Makes it good for ladder, less good beyond that.

@Zaneric_Mic @ignideus I mean aggro sometime is the answer especially for slower decks. erntz specifically cannot deal with wide boards and takes their entire turn. I’ve beat the deck more than I’ve lost to is with crystals because it’s easy to go wide on them. If I don’t get triple ramp cheesed

@ShinobiYukiVT @ignideus preemptive counter like that is no counter, if that's the case you can just say that every deck counter is just aggro bcs you can just kill them faster before the can do their stuff

@Zaneric_Mic @ignideus It’s a 10pp card. Like yeah they ramp but you still have plenty of time and ways to beat them down before erntz takes over the game unless they roll really high. Also how can you say no counter and then saw a counter to play around the card. It’s ok to just not like a deck

@ignideus and i think it is justified ? Erntz is really versatile cards with no counter play, its damage goes through ward, if you want to kill it most likely you cannot heal its damage and not to mention its ability to heal. The only way you can counter Erntz is by making wider board

@ignideus This kinda seems to be the problem with dragon design wise. It performs well at the beginning of a format and has high representation because it’s easy to build and has high highs, but in actually factual competitive play the class flops.

@remmy_4cc @ignideus Wouldn’t good players taking different decks also tell you that dragon is over hyped and hated? It’s a deck with no influence on the outcome of the game you either roll high or die.

@ignideus Or it just means that good players decided to bring two decks that are capable of going wide and aggressive early specifically for dragon which would lead to a tournament situation of dragon underperforming which does not represent the ladder experience
