@DaveOCKOP I thought he was hired to coach and play a certain style, not invent a new one?

@M4rkyMcMarkface @DaveOCKOP Slot came from Feyenoord, Rafa from Valencia, Rodgers from Swansea, Houllier from PSG, Klopp ex Dortmund. We've had managers from all levels

@DaveOCKOP I’d rather keep slot. This would be hodgson 2.0, didn’t fsg learn anything from getting managers in from small clubs? 😡

“In the case of Arne Slot leaving Liverpool, Andoni Iraola is at the very top of the list.” “The wind is turning very quickly on the banks of the Mersey. Disappointed by the current dynamic, Liverpool’s management does not rule out putting an end to Arne Slot’s adventure at the head of the team.” “According to our information, he has discreetly activated a lead he knows perfectly: Andoni Iraola. It was Hughes himself who brought the Spanish technician to the Premier League during his previous duties at Bournemouth. The timing is perfect.” (Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato)

Liverpool fans loved Rafa Benitez, but his style of football wasn’t front foot high press. In truth it was very organised and disciplined. Certainly not heavy metal. So why did you love him?

This is woeful from Liverpool. They aren't running. They look tired. Disorganised. The subs and tactics look inept. Taking off defenders and midfielders is chaos and the manager is surprised we concede chances and goals? Seriously worried. This is man utd downturn on steroids

@Corballyred You can blame Hughes and Edwards, but there's obviously an element of good faith here that Villa have broken. Contractually good have been more robust, but it sounds like assurances were broken

The deal by Edwards and Hughes was appalling. It set Harvey Elliott’s career back by 12 months, with that ridiculous obligation-to-buy clause after a certain number of games proving a nightmare— exactly why Villa didn’t want to take the risk. Last summer was one of the worst transfer windows in the club’s history when you take everything into context, yet Edwards and Hughes have largely escaped criticism for it🤔
Fabrizio Romano@FabrizioRomano

🚨 Unai Emery: “The Harvey Elliott situation is embarrassing for everyone involved. I feel sorry for the boy”. “My apologies for Harvey is every day in my mind”.

@Corballyred I think you're about 5 signings away from us being a good team. Still got to solve the left side of the pitch. Ngmoha isn't playing 40 games a season

With Anthony Gordon likely heading to Bayern, Michael Olise becomes available. Sack Slot, appoint Alonso, sign Olise and a quality No. 6, and Liverpool will be back competing for the Premier League next season. The reality is Slot won’t attract players of Olise’s level.

@GooalMouth Because the mentality and style of play was totally different? One manager had midfielders in both centre back positions, but the team ran through walls and played football. The other still had options which he won't use, poor play, no energy, no desire

Its funny. When we scraped 4th under Klopp after winning the league everyone called it a miracle because of our CB injury crisis. Bear in mind everyone else was still very much available. We were top of the leaue after Van Dijk sufffered the injury. This season, we have had significant injuries @ RB and up front. We have had to play midfiders at RB, overplay players like Hugo and play wingers up front. Oh and our best player declined to average levels. One season is praised as a miracle, the other is projected as a failure. Go figure that one out.

Do you think Arne Slot will still be in charge of Liverpool next season? As much as I’d like to see the club go in a different direction, I personally believe he’ll be given the opportunity to start next season in charge, with the club likely assessing things further based on how results and performances develop.

Darwin Núñez on a free transfer is an absolute no-brainer. He absolutely loves Liverpool, would work his bollocks off every single game, and was badly underrated — consistently averaging 20 goal contributions per season. We’re really missing players with that level of hunger and commitment.

@Watch_LFC We need a RB badly with the injury records we have. Diomande in on the left wing with Rio competing. Gakpo becomes rotational cover for RW. We then also need a right wingee

@Steviemo74 @Corballyred He is obviously class and he is our captain. My point is exactly that - he's 35 and we need pace in the back line if we want to press. He's lost a few yards, is making mistakes, and probably exhausted. Time to start moving on should have already started

My thoughts on match:😡 -Embarrassing first half, much better second half, but overall not good enough. -Slot has no clue how to set the team up defensively — the manager is the clear issue. -We have the players (second half proved it), the manager is the problem. -Whoever pushed the Frimpong signing needs sacking. -Big MacAllister fan, but that was unacceptable — he had a hand in both United goals. -Szoboszlai was excellent, Gerrard-like, and didn’t deserve to lose. -Criminal how underused Rio Ngumoha is. -Kerkez was much better than Robertson and should have started. -Gravenberch cannot play as the 6 next season — won almost no tackles. -Wirtz needs to offer far more. I forgot he was on the pitch in the second half. -Van Dijk was well below his best. -Jones continues to look very impressive at right-back. -Could have been a lot worse after that worst half.
