@FonsMans not even close, this is a display font at best. Not something you can use on both paragraphs and on headings. nobody can convince me that this is a legible paragraph font.

@thegadgetshub It's fine to not have blur. Android's and Nothing's base style are built around flat colors and layers, adding blur randomly just breaks the cohesion.

OxygenOS 15 and Nothing OS 3 are often applauded for being two of the best Android skins. But how does their UI and design compare against each other? Find out in this post. A long thread 🧵👇🏻 On the left: Nothing OS 3 On the right: OxygenOS 15 1. About device page

@spacebaralot @DSCCRoss @SnazzyLabs The centers are in Shenzhen because Apple is planning to collaborate with Chinese OLED makers as well. But sure, keep pretending Apple just sets up research centers and hires researchers for no use whatsoever. Real smart logical argument.

@ShinyKoustuv @DSCCRoss @SnazzyLabs No, it doesn't apply to displays. Yet. About these research centres, I don't know, you should ask Apple about it. And why are the centers in Shenzhen and not in California? However, the tandem OLED being used on the iPad Pro is 100% LGD and SDC tech. Stop meandering.

The most impressive display Apple makes is the tandem OLED in the M4 iPad Pro—and it's not remotely close.

@spacebaralot @DSCCRoss @SnazzyLabs As for the RAM, NAND etc., you can find the exact same chips being used in multiple non-Apple devices. Care to mention which other non-Apple devices use the same panels as that of iPhones or Macbooks? None, they all will differ, be it resolution, refresh rate, dimming zones etc.

@ShinyKoustuv @DSCCRoss @SnazzyLabs Do Apple also "design" their own RAM, NAND, image sensors, batteries etc? I can tell you the actual designers, suppliers, manufacturers, and IP holders for each of those components. Hint: it ain't Apple.

@spacebaralot @DSCCRoss @SnazzyLabs I absolutely agree with your second statement, not understanding the basic roles of each party in creating a product and yet yapping about it makes you look dumb.

@spacebaralot @DSCCRoss @SnazzyLabs AMD neither designed nor owns the Through-Silicon Vias tech that is actually used to implement their 3D VCache, that’s TSMC. Similarly Apple may not design nor own the exact tech used by LG Display, but they absolutely use it to design the specific panels for their devices.

@SnazzyLabs I would change that sentence to "The most impressive display Apple uses". Those displays are made by SDC and LGD.

@Cartidise USB-PD is a collection of voltage and current handshake standards, and not all phones or chargers support all the voltages. So yes, for some cases, it is very well possible that PPS handshake delivers higher power than the standard PD handshake. Check AllThingsOnePlace channel.

This is not okay. Something is wrong with Nothing phones. They’re saying PD will charge the phone slower than PPS? Excuse me what? My S25 with 25W PD/PPS charges faster than the Nothing Phone 3a at 45W. Yes, mAh/mintue. Stop claiming 50W when you never charge the phone at 50W, then.

The source is the Terms of Service. @LundukeJournal broke the news & is literally just reading the TOS on video. Stop being weird, @ShinyKoustuv. x.com/LundukeJournal…
The Lunduke Journal@LundukeJournal

This is incorrect, @TimSweeneyEpic. The Firefox Terms explicitly state: “When you upload or input information through Firefox, you hereby grant us a nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use that information.” Mozilla also outlines how it can use all user data (including clicks, location, uploaded data, etc.) by sending it to any third party they wish — including use in advertising. Side note: Big fan of your work, Tim. ZZT was (nay, is) absolutely awesome.

@GentlyGent @M_Solidus We have a clear list of hardware requirements which we've linked above. There is no laptop or desktop meeting these requirements. There are smartphones and tablets meeting these requirements, which we support, and there are others relatively close to meeting them but not quite.

It's insane how much cleaner the internet experience is after you use content blocking in your browser, only FOSS apps and run all that on top of GNU/Linux or on @GrapheneOS .

@SoltheHedgehog @WholesomeMeme Was it the same episode? I remember her going into the VR training chamber and just cranking the difficulty dial to 11 (heh). And then proceeding to absolutely destroy all the enemies spawned.

The @Xiaomi 14T Pro supports 50W wireless charging, which is faster than many phones can even charge using a cable! Xiaomi sent me its 50W Wireless Charger earlier this month, so I decided to test just how fast it really is. Safe to say, pretty darn fast! The Xiaomi 14T Pro has a 5000mAh battery and went from 1% to 100% in only ~42 minutes. It didn't even get that hot, either.

@vxunderground I think there’s a difference between a paper and a book. A book doesn’t have nearly as much the length restriction of a journal or conf paper, and hence I think can take the liberty of not having to be so incredibly dense and exhausting to get through.

It is a well established fact that the more dry, painful, and boring the paper — the better the paper. The brain is a muscle, you need to push yourself into uncomfortable territory, the struggle is real. You will get better. Or just look at cat pictures (that's what we do)
solst/ICE of Astarte@IceSolst

This book must be the sole reason millions of people were permanently turned away from the field because of how ridiculously dry it is. Couldn’t get through half a page without passing out in a concussion coma. Almost convinced me to change careers. Beginners: avoid this.

Ghostty on Reddit, there's a lesson in this. 🤣 "r/macOS": Neat, nice app. iTerm is nice too. I love choice. "r/linux": arguments about what "native" means, angry they have to click one link to learn what it is, disappointed that another terminal exists, 50-comment discussion about GTK vs QT
