@USUTUKU @chrisbriem an honest data analysis would fully understand that a dollar spent in Fox Chapel on school does not mean the same as a dollar spent in Braddock, in terms of what that money supports and what its "outcome" is

@chrisbriem Yet they spend 30% less per student on school than pittsburgh public school (Braddock) & yield a much better outcome. What does an honest data analysis tell us?

Actually let's look at the whole state. Fox Chapel has the highest median income anywhere in Pennsylvania, and Braddock has the 2nd lowest median income.

The other day (instead of working) I was listening to the 20th anniversary edition of The Darkness' PERMISSION TO LAND and specifically "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" and started brainstorming a playlist of songs where the singer says "guitar" and a guitar solo appears.

This agency in charge of mobility in the state of PA. How do you promote an idea this stupid? If you only define "mobility" to mean cars going ~10-20 mph above the posted speed limit and promote it as such.

@Dylligent Maybe I'm reading too much into this one plot (and should read the full paper), but with fixed 'Share of two parents...' it seems like there is a gradient favoring urban over rural? Just looking at all of the orange points above the green/blue in the middle of the plot.

@rishabh_shah92 @erinkatz_ Definitely not sad to have made the switch at all, just noting the bit of weird, indoor AQ-related downside. Induction is the shit.

@ShipleyRobinson @erinkatz_ Oh right sorry, I meant to say we switched to a range with induction cooktop and electric oven. The bake off was def from the oven. I just mention the pot of water thing because that’s a major point in favor of energy efficiency, so maybe an offset to the bunch of VOCs we emitted

Had to replace an old gas oven, went with electric. After 7hrs of “burn off” the strong VOC emission rate seems to finally be coming down. A minor inconvenience of decarbonization in the long run, but still not nothin either.
