It’s becoming painfully clear not only that US and Israel are losing this war but that this is one of the biggest strategic failures of the West with the most significant consequences for geopolitics of the region and the global economy since WWII

1. Explaining how violence escalates is not the same as justifying it 2. Modern Zionism has been critiqued (& apologized for) since it’s inception 3. Berman felt comfortable disagreeing 4. So? 5. Intrafamily tension re Israel is common & pretty relatable tbh
Tanna debè Ribbi Yishma'el@TannadebeRY

Portrait of the "smol emuni" conference. "Resistance" is inevitable, David Myers apologizing for Zionism, Saul Berman too right-wing, panels on ICE, and laments of "why doesn't anybody like me?" You couldn't write a parody funnier than this. What a circus.

Many of us in Ireland have experienced an awakening. On 7th & 8th October 2023 I learned the horror of what was happening in Israel. I saw footage & read reports that chilled me to the bone. Every day it seemed to get worse. It was distressing & horrifying and I literally cried as the gratuitous, unhinged violence of H@mas & Gazan's played out in 4k on my phone. I was incredibly affected & I still am. But what I witnessed in my own country shocked me in a way I've never experienced before. I was speechless at the reactions of so many around me. It was incomprehensible to me that 'these' were my people! It still is. I was born in Ireland, to an Irish family & had a typical working class upbringing. I went to university here and then left as a young adult to travel. I lived in several different countries over the next 17 years or so. Even though most of my adult life has been outside Ireland, I still remained very close to my family and friends. I returned here with my children 10 years ago. It was a huge adjustment as many things had changed in my absence but within a year or so I settled back into a new life in my old country. The atrocities of October 7th have ripped a blindfold off my eyes and what I see around me is equally appalling & devastating. I thought I'd come home but I haven't. I've returned to a country so blinded by bigotry & hate, so caught up in propaganda & indoctrination and so willing to loose sight of their humanity because of the false equivalency consistently drawn between the battle of Palestinians for 'their' land & the ongoing battle of Ireland for ours. My initial response to the overwhelming support of H@mas & the 'innocent' Gazan's was shock that Irish people could be so inhumane. How could they POSSIBLY support Islamic Jihadists who just committed the most vile atrocities against innocent civilians? Then I questioned do they really know what they're saying when they chant 'From the river to the Sea'. How could they be calling for the annihilation of Israel and it's replacement by a super caliphate under sharia law? How could they possibly be so uneducated? Then I saw the overwhelming support for H@mas in Irish media & their regurgitation of every report as fact. There was no due diligence or investigative journalism. Everything the Palestinian Authority or H@mas said was presented as fact. I then watched in horror and fury as our Taoiseach (Prime Minister) announced to the world Irelands recognition of Palestine as a state. The same day this obscene announcement was made, H@mas released a distressing video of five injured & terrified 19 year old Israeli girls Naama, Agam, Liri, Danielle & Karina. It upset me so much I didn't sleep for days. I posted it so many times in response to people glorifying Ireland's stance that X restricted my account for spamming! I've posted endlessly on X on the foundation of H@mas, their charter & their obsession with killing Jews. Their use of babies, women & children as human shields. Their deliberate use of hospitals as military bases. Their commandeering of humanitarian aid. The training, arming & financing both they Hezbollah, Houthis & other terrorists receive from Iran. The destruction they brought to Lebanon and the takeover of their country. I've posted interviews and public addresses given by terrorist leaders where they glorify the murder and annihilation of Jews. Where they loudly promise to repeat October 7 again and again. I've clearly and systematically defended why I stand with Israel without any hysteria or hyperbole and the response from those around me? Followers stopped following. Friends stopped calling or replying to texts. Interactions with my posts reduced to zero. I've been shunned and ignored because my truth makes people uncomfortable. But that is nothing in comparison to what Israel is enduring. My 💙 is with them today in their fight against Islamic terrorism and it always will.

The mission last night is a window into Zionism. The IDF went into Lebanon to try to find the remains of Ron Arad, who died decades ago. They did so even though his widow, Tami Arad did not want to put lives at risk to do so. 41 Lebanese were killed in the mission which failed. It is an example of how Israel prioritizes the remains of a Jew over dozens of Arab lives and how Netanyahu will kill as many people as it takes, and ignore the wishes of the bereaved in order to get his photo-op.
Israel Defense Forces@IDF

⭕️As part of IDF activities in Lebanon, IDF special forces operated overnight in an attempt to locate findings related the missing navigator Ron Arad. No findings related to him were located at the search site and no IDF injuries were reported. The IDF will continue to operate relentlessly, day and night, out of a deep commitment to bringing all of Israel’s sons, the fallen and the missing, back home to Israel.

@academic_la If you are indeed actually Jewish, it is only a tiny self hating fringe of Jews ( including you) who support the Jew-hating terrorist advocate, Mamdani.

I'll say it again and again because we need to normalize the truth: There is NO evidence of mass rape on October 7th. None. And no American politician who parrots this genocidal lie is qualified for office.
Casey Babb@DrCaseyBabb

I’ve personally met with women who survived heinous sexual assaults both on October 7 and while in captivity in Gaza. Many have publicly described what they endured. But to the former press secretary for @BernieSanders, no such crimes occurred. My God this is disgusting.

Israel is taking advantage of the distraction created by its bombing of Iran to stop all aid into Gaza. The Kerem Shalom and Erez crossing have been largely inactive since the February 28 strikes. Zero aid trucks have entered northern Gaza in the last several days, with existing stocks of fuel and flour now virtually non-existent. The majority of Gazans still cannot access three meals a day, and the disruption of aid caused by the regional escalation with Iran threatens to push the territory back into active famine conditions.

The death of 3 US soldiers is in the top headline on the #BBC news website. The death of 153 Iranian schoolchildren is only in the fifth headline. This suggests some very screwed-up priorities.

The U.S. just killed the premier Shia religious leader during Ramadan, the holiest month of the Muslim calendar. As a reader pointed out, it’s equivalent to killing the Pope during Lent. Add to that an Israeli missile strike that killed dozens of Iranian schoolgirls. This will stir decades if not generations of enmity among ordinary Iranians toward the U.S., even among those who hated the Islamic regime. The idea that Trump’s war could transform US-Iran relations in any positive way —even if the Iranian people revolt — is pure fantasy. @defpriorities
