Reminder: In addition to 13 American soldiers during the attack at Kabul Airport Abbey Gate in August 2021, more than 170 Afghan civilians were also killed and many more injured. Unfortunately there is no mention of Afghan civilian casualties in the media or government statements

Earlier this week, I met with Health Minister Noor Jalal Jalali to discuss the health situation in #Afghanistan. We also discussed the need to ramp up the work to #EndPolio, and respond to other outbreaks across the country. @WHO will continue to support all people in Afghanistan, especially women and children, so their health needs are met.
