Washington is re-signing guard Chris Paul to a one-year deal, a source confirmed @Schultz_Report's report. Paul wanted to test the market; Washington gets back someone who started the final 15 games at guard and did a solid job.

noteworthy: Conerly listed as the starting RT. Improved quite a bit as the summer went on. Allegretti has worked all summer as the first RG, tho Wylie served as the move around piece to fill in for anyone out. Valuable piece. Croskey-Merritt listed 4th among RBs.

@Mason_Kinnahan One potentially negative view of that. After he was through his 1st or 2nd read, he never made an off-schedule throw. It was 1 and run on reads. Hopefully we see more buying time to throw in the future, because there were several times he had guys open but turned it down.

We're going to see a lot of that from Jayden Daniels. Wish they would have let him throw it at least once inside the 10, get him those reps. Don't see what handing off to Ekeler on second and goal at the 8 in a preseason game really does for your team but hey.

On first down last week, here is their yardage gains:
1, 1, 5, 0 (plus holding), 1, 4, 2, 6, 1, 8,
So if the 10 run plays, 2 were above average, 2 were average, 6 were bad.

Inability to run? Commanders are 12th in expected points added per game on non-QB rushes, 11th in rush DVOA and 14th in run blocking per PFF.

@JPFinlayNBCS @ngreenberg When are you going to draw a correlation between their inability to run with all of the issues you identify? RBs are good. If they could run, then opens up play action and opens up routes and slows down pass rush. This is not a Howell issue.
