I can definitely relate. I recently returned from Nigeria last week. The cost of living is significantly higher there now, approximately three times what it used to be. While I only stayed for three weeks, I missed Nigeria so much that I took a vacation there.
OgaHANS🇳🇬@OgaHans

Even if you've lived in the UK or abroad for just 2yrs straight — if you enter Nigeria of today, Bro I give you just 14days, You'll start looking at your return ticket.😔 Living in Nigeria is terribly HARD.

Classic example of when you cast pearls to swine. Could have taken that European education serious, get the degree & cross migrate to other Western European countries (easier from there). Instead, went there & started frolicking. This is a lot of you lead your lives.

Ette, this is straight-up colonial slave mentality. If everyone had my type of mentality, they wouldn’t care but would pursue the truth about Africa’s reality. Instead of warning Africans to self-censor and lick Western boots just to get a visa, why not expose this as digital imperialism? The US now demands your entire social media history so they can police what Global South voices are allowed to say. After using puppets and imperialism to loot our resources and control our economy, they now gatekeep our minds and movements. Saying we should “Be careful what you post” is just like modern chains. To me, it’s better to speak freely than stay a house negro begging for scraps from empire. A real African mind doesn’t bow to nonsense.

If you’re moving from Nigeria 🇳🇬 to the UK 🇬🇧 and you’re unsure which city to choose, here’s a quick shortcut to save you hours of research. 🇬🇧 London = 🇳🇬 Lagos. Same pressure, same movement, same feeling that everybody is chasing something bigger. 🇬🇧 Milton Keynes = 🇳🇬 Abuja. Clean, planned, structured, and somehow still making roundabouts a lifestyle. 🇬🇧 Edinburgh = 🇳🇬 Port Harcourt. Oil city energy, straight-faced people, and zero interest in pretending life is cheap. 🇬🇧 Birmingham = 🇳🇬 Kano. Young city, serious hustle, and enough commercial weight to matter without needing London’s validation. 🇬🇧 Leicester = 🇳🇬 Benin City. Community everywhere, cultures mixing easily, and enough Naija presence to make the move feel softer. 🇬🇧 Manchester = 🇳🇬 Ibadan. Proud identity, deep culture, and a city that does not need to shout before you notice its influence. 🇬🇧 Leeds = 🇳🇬 Kaduna. Quietly important. Practical people. No unnecessary noise, just real life and real work. 🇬🇧 Bristol = 🇳🇬 Enugu. Clean energy. Creative crowd. A softer pace, but still enough ambition to keep things moving. 🇬🇧 Bradford = 🇳🇬 Ilorin. Affordable, underrated, and built more on real community than on hype. Which one did I get right and which one did I miss?

@MahosiMaxwell @FutureBite Listen to yourself. So if these drug dealers are from a particular country and are illegally in your country, should they not be named or discussed? This is why SA was silenced and is now being called xenophobic. Stop defending criminals and lawlessness.

@God_Really_Said @Airbwoi01 @UnilagOlodo Mumu We don’t have leaders We have puppets installed by the metropole to ensure the smooth extraction of resources and labour, and David has been clamouring about chasing them away. You think you’re smart but you’re dumb one

@Airbwoi01 @UnilagOlodo With this same logic, would you say the British is to be blamed for the death of Prime minister Lamumba of Congo or you'd blame his people for selling him out. OUR LEADERS AGREED TO SELL US OUT stop blaming the seller of rotten tomatoes, blame yourself for buying rotten tomatoes

“A Nigerian came to South Africa to hijack an ‘abandoned’ building and force all the residence to pay rent to him” (WOW! Must be superpowers or juju 😩😩) then afterwards started “bringing drugs into the country to feed the tenants” do these drug users just make up all the excuses in their heads? Accountability is a No-No! It’s clear why even the South African government can’t take all these narratives seriously, you guys are not ready yet 😂

My former Landlord wants to take all my deposit. In the UK 🇬🇧, you pay holding deposit before you rent a house. So she wants to collect all my £1310 , I told her I always win 🏆 and I won, I’m so happy. She said she wan use my money redecorate house (£6700). The DPS (agency that did the case) in the UK 🇬🇧 gave her just £50 for redecorating. DPS had other ideas. The money might be a small money, but I go use am do something else. Some UK landlords are wicked. No landlord has EVER taken my holding deposits in the UK Congratulations 🙌 to me and my family.

Nigeria may be one of the greatest free talent factories in human history. We train our best doctors, engineers, researchers, programmers, nurses, academics and innovators… then export them cheaply to countries that already work. America benefits, Canada benefits, Britain benefits, Australia benefits and entire Europe benefits as-well. Meanwhile the country that produced the talent remains broken, and the painful part is this: excellent people are the rarest resource on earth. Not oil, not gold nor land. Excellent human beings. The kind of people that build industries, fix institutions, create companies, discover medicines, design systems, lead revolutions and move civilizations forward. Every serious nation knows this. That is why the West aggressively absorbs the best brains from struggling countries. They don’t joke with talent. Nigeria loses thousands of its most competent people every year, then we gather online to argue about tribe and politics while our future quietly boards flights out of the country. Imagine if China lost most of its best engineers. Imagine if Singapore exported its smartest minds permanently. Imagine if South Korea trained talents only for other nations to use them. Would they become great nations? No. A nation rises on the strength of its human capital. And this is why I still believe Nigeria can become first world within our generation but only if we become intentional about building a country our best people no longer feel desperate to escape from. Because no country develops by permanently exporting its most capable citizens and importing mediocrity into leadership. At some point, we must stop celebrating survival abroad and start building a nation worth staying back to fight for.

Do you guys know that currently the Department of Basic Education has no idea how many undocumented, illegal foreign children are in our schools but are currently learning?? There are 250 000 foreign children that are documented in our schools… meanwhile there are thousands of South African children estimated to be out of school because they don’t get space ‼️‼️
