@ShopejuD @LaLigaMichael Tbh I didn't watch Foden play for England this ssn. His carries at full speed & dribbling can draw fouls + he can shoot from long range. Think these are valuable skills in such a tournament, couldn't he have been called up to act as impact sub?

@LaLigaMichael I remember when Ngolo Kanté left to KSA and a friend told me he's done for the NT, I said I bet you Deschamps calls him, you'll see. Some players just perform when they wear their NT's jersey, regardless of club form or tactics 🤷🏾‍♂️ That's the case w/ Ngolo & plenty other players.

It’s not me overthinking it, tbh — but anyone who’s been around Spanish football for a long time will understand what I mean. If it were any other coach in the world, I’d tell you the tie is over. But because it’s Simeone specifically, the comeback is still a real possibility… and what happened in the second half is the biggest proof. If this game were against any other team like Bayern, City, PSG, or Chelsea, the score would’ve been even heavier. In the second half, instead of Atlético Madrid stepping on the gas and taking advantage of Barcelona pushing forward, I saw Atlético players lowering the tempo. Even 90% of Barcelona’s own fans still believe in a comeback. And I’m convinced everyone was sitting there thinking: if the fifth goal goes in, then it’s truly over. Yes, that goal makes a difference — anyone who’s played football knows 5–0 is not the same as 4–0. Psychologically, it’s huge. Man, Barcelona played 17 minutes with a man down, and Atlético still weren’t pressing hard. It’s like Simeone himself couldn’t believe the result. Anyway, let’s see… the second leg will be interesting.

@andruchk One thing for sure is that... he's not gonna have someone having to overlap for him always.. even Arnold when he's back won't really do that...so another structure must be put in place in that right hand side to make it functional for him and anyone playing there

It’s funny how we were talking about how well Franco does with a good overlapper then all of the sudden the team decided to let the kid try to dribble past two defenders on his own on that right side, the overlaps from Fede against Monaco was constant, against Villareal they are less so and against Benfica they were almost non existent. This is not the only reason Franco was god awful but it didn’t help.
