Lakers fans complaining about “one way players” clearly don’t watch other teams. There are MAYBE 10 real 2-way role players in the league. Most teams are filled with one-way guys. The Lakers are built better than people think. Most people just repeat narratives.

- Reduce quarters to 10 minutes. 40 minute games would essentially be like playing 13 less games over the course of a season, without hurting the business side of losing revenue from games. - Make the first two rounds of the playoffs 5 game series. Use the extra two weeks to extend the regular season and eliminate back to backs Problem solved

We should just say it's best player on the best team. Not sure when MVP became a full roster award but it has. And what's funny is most media members know that OKC and San Antonio's rosters are a lot better than the Lakers roster... but they won't say it out loud when referencing net rating, point differential and other stuff. I mean, the guy Luka's played most with this season... Jake LaRavia. No shots but does he even crack OKC's rotation this season? MVP has become a team award and these lineup dependent stats have become the reason why. I'd suggest reading @iztok_franko's article about this very subject. Imagine averaging 27.9 PPG, 12.9 RPG, and 10.8 APG on 67.4% TS — and finishing 4th in the MVP race. Jokić is on pace to become the first player in NBA HISTORY to lead the league in rebounds AND assists. He’s actually averaging more PTS, REB, and AST than he did in his last MVP season. This is one of the craziest MVP races in history.

LeBron James was SO HATED in 2011 they GAVE his MVP award to Derrick Rose just for beating LeBron in a head to head matchups even though LeBron was CLEARLY better than Rose that season. By A LOT.

I have no idea how much credit to give to prediction markets, but I just saw one that suggested Nikola Jokić will finish fourth in MVP voting, despite having arguably the best single season in NBA history. I do think there’s a case for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but Jokić finishing fourth would be “maybe there’s something wrong with the voting pool” level bad.

Jokic averages more rebounds & assists on better efficiency from the field, line, & three than Luka.... while also being a better defender & handling the ball for much less time. So forget Luka winning the MVP, I'm confused as to why he's even ahead of Jokic in this race.

Luka just had an outstanding month and I can see the impact angle for Wemby… but how could Shai possibly make a better MVP case? GOAT-level scoring season with high-level playmaking and plus defense with a +15 on-court NET. Feels like it’s still taken for granted too much.
