Arrived today. My 5xGrandfather's British Naval Rocket Brigade patch. Flown in Space during @PolarisProgram's #PolarisDawn Sept. 10-15, 2024 to over 1,400 km & 75 orbits. Exposed to open Space during the World's first non-govt EVA. Thank you @rookisaacman & Casey Phillips!

Super Heavy ascent went nominally, but after hot-staging the boostback burn failed and the booster crashed in the Gulf of Mexico downrange instead of near the launch site. [2/n]

A new story in China's space journey is about to begin as the China Space Station will soon welcome its first astronaut from the Hong Kong SAR – Lai Ka-ying. As a payload specialist, Lai will focus on conducting aerospace experiments and research. #TheFaces Lai developed a strong interest in computing from an early age and later earned a doctoral degree in computer forensics. Once serving in the Hong Kong Police Force, she joined the national aerospace force in 2024, standing out among about 120 candidates from Hong Kong SAR through multiple rounds of selection. Following strict training and adaptation alongside her teammates, Lai was finally chosen for the Shenzhou-23 crew and the spaceship is scheduled to launch at 11:08 p.m. Sunday (Beijing Time). "When opportunities come, seize them and don't be afraid of failure," Lai encouraged younger generations from the Hong Kong SAR to pursue their dreams bravely. "For me, there is only success and learning. Failure is also a learning process, and it is valuable for future growth."
