The most damning indictment on the state of the game right now is that fans, managers and media are forcing a narrative of Arsenal bending the rules of football when they’re in a title race with a club that is evading 115 charges for bending the rules of football.
James Benge@jamesbenge

Hurzeler on Arsenal: At the moment I have a feeling they’re making their own rules... There has to be a limit, it has to be set by the Premier League and the referees. At the moment they can do what they want.

He never wrote these articles when Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were competing on all fronts and I wonder why he suddenly sees the need to when it’s Arsenal. 🚮

Marc Guehi a great signing for Man City. Just for context though since Jan 2025 through til Jan 2026 they have spent £500m on signings, which is half of what Arteta has spent in 6 years at Arsenal. Don’t let City run that underdog gimmick

Manchester City's imminent £65million signing of Antoine Semenyo means that, since their bid for a fifth successive Premier League title fell apart in late 2024, #MCFC will have responded by spending around £460million on player fees in barely more than one year

People ask how Mikel Arteta survived during the darkness at Arsenal. They ask why he wasn't sacked like all these other coaches. They do not understand, they want to know how. Well, listen to him speak and ask yourself if you would ever sack this person from your organization.

“Arsenal gave Arteta time and look at them now” A lot of football fans need to get over this romantic idea that any old manager can come in and do what Arteta has done just because he was backed with patience. Arteta is a once in a lifetime coach. He was destined for this. Even at his worst he showed signs that he was destined for it. Can’t say the same for your managers.

While we all praise the players etc dont forget the man who made these nights possible. The tactics, the tenacity the will to want more. Mikel Arteta take a bow.

🚨 Back in January 2023, a secret meeting between Moises Caicedo & key Arsenal operatives in north London had gone well. Arsenal knew he wanted to join them & within the club, there was confidence he would soon be theirs. The move for Caicedo did not work out as Arsenal hoped. Brighton rejected two offers, the second worth around £70m & made it clear that they were not impressed by Arsenal’s approach. Arsenal always insisted they ideally wanted to sign BOTH Caicedo & Declan Rice. [@SamJDean]

If you need an average footballer like @Carra23, who is even worse as a pundit, to convince you that a league that is currently dominating the UCL or that the games you are watching with your own eyes have suddenly dropped levels because his darling Liverpool are finding the times harder than they are used to, you deserve to be fooled really.

Arsenal haven’t conceded a single goal in their last 8 matches. They’ve only conceded 3 in 16 games and haven’t allowed more than 1 goal this season. What Arteta is doing with this team is incredible — it’s time we appreciate his work. He’s built a solid side and deserves full respect for that.

If Liverpool and/or Man City fail to win the Premier League this season, it should go down as one of the biggest failures in the division's history - @Football_LDN Around £400m spent each in 2025 on players, approximately £100m+ more than Arsenal. football.london/arsenal-fc/new…

They didn't create anything because your defence was incredible. I'd shout out the Liverpool defence over blaming the Arsenal attack. Both teams cancelled each other out. The only thing that separated them was a World Class free kick.
Jamie Carragher@Carra23

It’s not only about this game, it’s about the mentality of your manager (who I’m a fan of) Merino starting tells you straight away about the mindset. You didn’t create one chance against a team who have been exposed by three teams with less ability than yours.
