Attempt to Throttle Democratic Voices: CPI(ML) Condemns House Arrest of Leaders Ahead of Feb 23 UP Assembly March Lucknow, February 22: CPI(ML) Liberation strongly condemns the action of the Uttar Pradesh police in placing party leaders under house arrest in various districts across the state on the eve of the February 23 Assembly March in Lucknow. This arbitrary action, carried out ahead of a peaceful democratic mobilization against bulldozer raj and other pressing public issues, is nothing but repression aimed at throttling democratic dissent. In a statement, CPI(ML) UP State Secretary Sudhakar Yadav said that police reached the residence of Comrade Devashish, District Secretary of the party in Pilibhit, who was preparing to march to Lucknow with comrades, and placed him under house arrest. Similarly, Comrade Arjun Lal, District Secretary of Sitapur and a Zila Panchayat member, has also been detained at his home. Similar reports are being received from other districts as well. The February 23 march has been called to raise urgent and long-pending demands of the poor, workers, peasants, students and marginalized communities. These include an end to bulldozer-driven evictions; guaranteeing land rights for the poor; ensuring freedom from crushing debt; protecting forest rights; implementing the UGC Equity Regulation 2026; granting government worker status and proper wages to ASHA and other scheme workers; and restoring and strengthening the MGNREGA. The march also calls for the expansion of employment opportunities, the protection of constitutional and democratic rights, and several other pressing demands of the people. The State Secretary stated that people distressed by the government’s policies are coming on Monday to peacefully present their demands before the state’s highest democratic forum — the Legislative Assembly. “What is the government afraid of? Why are leaders being stopped in the districts? The CPI(ML) demands that all leaders and activists placed under house arrest be released immediately and that they be allowed to participate freely in the February 23 Assembly March. Any attempt to curb peaceful democratic assertion will only strengthen the resolve of the people to defend their constitutional rights.

Martyrdom Day | Remembering the Revolutionary Legacy of Rosa Luxemburg & Karl Liebknecht. On this day, we remember Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht, revolutionary leaders who co-founded the anti-war Spartacus League and the Communist Party of Germany (KPD). #RosaLuxemburg (1871–1919) was an outstanding figure in the Polish and German working-class movement and a leading voice of the left wing of the Second International. She played a pivotal role in forming the International Group in Germany, which later became the Spartacus Group and then the Spartacus League. During the November Revolution of 1918, Rosa emerged as one of the foremost leaders of the revolutionary German working class and participated in the Inaugural Congress of the Communist Party of Germany. On 15 January 1919, Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht were abducted and brutally murdered by right wing paramilitary groups—silenced for their unwavering commitment to internationalism, socialism, and opposition to imperialist war. Their ideas and struggle continue to inspire movements for justice and liberation worldwide.

21 years have gone by since Comrade Mahendra Singh's assassination in the middle of 2005 elections in Jharkhand. His legacy of courage, initiative and sacrifice continues to haunt the fascist brigade as a spectre and inspire every fighter for justice as a beacon of light & hope.

प्रति, श्रीमान मुख्यमंत्री महोदय, उत्तराखंड शासन, देहरादून. श्रीमान मुख्य सचिव महोदय, उत्तराखंड, देहरादून. श्रीमान पुलिस महानिदेशक महोदय , उत्तराखंड पुलिस, देहरादून. श्रीमान वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक महोदय, देहरादून. महोदय, जनपद देहरादून के तहसील त्यूणी के ग्राम डिगराड के प्रकाश एवं संजय पुत्र श्री केवल राम तथा संदीप पुत्र श्री जमन सिंह, मजदूरी करके जीवन यापन करने वाले युवा थे. वे इसी तहसील के ग्राम भूट के श्री अमित राणा के मकान के निर्माण का कार्य कर रहे थे. यह बताया गया कि उन्हें रहने के लिए ग्राम भूट के राजकीय प्राथमिक विद्यालय का एक कमरा दिया गया. प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार, 06 दिसंबर की मध्य रात्रि के बाद या कहिये कि 07 दिसंबर 2025 की अलसुबह 12.44 पर इन तीनों ने अमित राणा के परिजनों को सूचित किया कि कोई व्यक्ति उन्हें डरा-धमका रहा है. उनसे कहा गया कि वे उसके परवाह न करें और सो जाएं. यह सूचना उन्होंने अपने परिजनों को भी फोन पर दी. अगली सुबह ( 07 दिसंबर 2025 को) ये तीनों मृत पाए गए. यह दावा किया गया कि इनकी मृत्यु गैस लीक होने से हुई. लेकिन इनके बिस्तर खून से सने हुए थे, इनमें से एक का हाथ टूटा हुआ था और दो के सिर और छाती पर चोट के निशान थे. इससे इनके परिजनों को संदेह है कि यह मामला गैस लीकेज का नहीं बल्कि हत्या का है. मामला राजस्व पुलिस से रेगुलर पुलिस को ट्रांस्फर हो चुका है और थाना त्यूणी की पुलिस के पास है. लेकिन इस मामले में एक महीना से अधिक बीत जाने के बाद भी कोई ठोस प्रगति नहीं हुई है और उक्त तीनों के परिजन न्याय की आस में भटक रहे हैं. इस मामले में परिजनों का यह भी आरोप है कि शुरूआती तौर पर स्थानीय नायब तहसीलदार- श्री सरदार सिंह का रवैया इस प्रकरण में बेहद अगंभीर व असहयोगात्मक रहा है और बिना किसी जांच के ही उन्होंने घोषित कर दिया कि मृत्यु गैस लीकेज से हुई है. साथ ही परिजनों का प्रार्थनापत्र लेने से भी इंकार कर दिया. महोदय, यह प्रकरण अत्यंत गंभीर है, जो व्यवस्थित जांच की मांग करता है. आपसे निवेदन है कि इस प्रकरण की समयबद्ध जांच हेतु अपने अधीनस्थों को निर्देशित करने की कृपा करें ताकि परिजनों को न्याय मिले और यदि कोई अपराध हुआ है तो अपराधियों के विरुद्ध कठोर कानूनी कार्रवाई अमल में लायी जा सके. सधन्यवाद, सहयोगाकांक्षी, इन्द्रेश मैखुरी, राज्य सचिव, भाकपा माले उत्तराखंड
