@Paddy_Boyland He didn't "have to" make the block since Diaz obviously wouldn't have been allowed to touch it. Diaz also didn't interfere with play as he wasn't going for the ball.

Diaz is standing in an offside position, I think, when the pass comes in. Tarkowski has to try to make the block and it ends with a Liverpool goal. Case the Liverpool forward is interfering with play there, if he is indeed offside (yet to see another replay)
