@LissaKEvans The Worst Class in the World (series) by the fabulous Jo Nadin, illustrated by the equally fabulous Rikin Parekh - laugh out loud funny, loved by my class!

Funny Books for Children that Weren’t Written by David Walliams. Please add your suggestions to this thread. I’ll start: Sputnik’s Guide to Life on Earth - by Frank Cottrell Boyce. Fabulously funny but also thought-provoking. It’ll make kids look at their world in a new way.

@LeeBraganza Super Mario Party is a brilliant game to play together and Mariocart. I’m a big fan of Pikmin too but I’ve never played it with others.

Ok Nintendo Switch people. I'm clueless about this. How many controllers do I need to buy for four of us to play??? What are the best games for us all to play together??? Thank you please. X

@PaulBushen @ShakinthatChalk My daughter quit her PGCE for this very reason. The schools she was at were great, and behaviour was tackled, but being unable to deliver planned lessons was soul destroying.

It’s not. It’s the school day. Young teachers are enduring around 5 years and realising they can’t do this forever. It wasn’t like this when I started and behaviour back then wasn’t much different.

“How can we keep teachers from leaving? A 1% pay raise? 4 day school week? Donuts in the staff lounge?!” Discipline. It’s discipline. Restore discipline to classrooms and the best teachers will stop leaving It’s that simple

@DeputyGrocott Try being a Siân in 1970s Essex…with a brother called Seán. I was lucky if they realised I was a girl. My eldest likes to say she went to uni in Ireland so that people would spell/pronounce her name correctly 🤦‍♀️

I’m a real stickler for getting names right, whether that be the pronunciation or when it’s in writing. I think one of the most respectful things, to get someone’s name right. My daughter has an acute accent on her ‘e’ and I cannot stand it when people miss it off!

@MRMICT I watched Star Wars at the cinema with my dad - after queuing round the block to get in. For several weeks I was the coolest kid in school. I was 7. Just don't crush them with the prequels.

@lifeatthenest @_MissieBee @TeacherTapp Being able to go home for PPA has been the biggest boost to my work/life balance and my productivity. There’s no ‘spare’ room in school so you always had to find a space to work, you got drawn into things etc.

@_MissieBee @TeacherTapp I genuinely believe it’s lack of trust, and micromanaging. Trusted to look after 30 kids on your own & educate them ✅ do your paperwork at home ❌. It’s mad. We were trusted to the point we could make appts on ppa and do the work at weekend. As long as work gets done. Why not.

Nearly 60% of us can’t take PPA at home? What are the genuine reasons for this? @TeacherTapp

@Rachel97687043 @Positivteacha My husband did the same 15 years ago. I wish he’d been more open about his feelings and got the help he desperately needed. My girls were still in primary school. No, life won’t be the same - but it will be ok. Much love to you both ❤️

@Positivteacha My ex husband ended his life 2 weeks ago - we shared a 16 year old daughter. She is devastated and her life will never be the same. He was having counselling and they asked him weekly if he had any thoughts of self harm. He replied every week with ‘no.’ Please keep talking ❤️

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has helped over the past few weeks. Our surprise gift meant for a 2025 arrival wanted to make an early appearance so at 29 weeks we were Medivac’d off island by the team Gama aviation to Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust where we were under their care for a month. After arriving back in Guernsey 11 days later and at 35 weeks she made her appearance. The maternity team on Loveridge ward safely brought her into the world and alongside the neonatal ICU team have cared for all wonderfully. The most perfect Christmas present 🎄 #Thankyou #MerryChristmas

Ivy’s Christmas list has been consistent no matter who asks her. 1. History Books (she LOVES learning about History). 2. Fidgets 3. Lego A moment for how cute her list is. 🥰 However, what History book would you buy for a 6 year old? (We’ve got some!)

@MartinSLewis When my husband died suddenly our children were still in primary school. The funeral director gently guided me into making savings/sensible choices around the funeral and told me which benefits I could claim - a massive help when suffering widow-brain.

@jurassicguides I would love this for my Year 3/4 class fossil display - inspiring the next generation of fossil hunters! We've been learning all about the Jurassic Coast, Mary Anning and are obsessed by David Attenborough's 'Sea Dragon' programme. Red Class would be forever grateful!
