For everyone celebrating the “agreement” reportedly being signed between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, let’s be very clear: There is no final agreement being signed. What is being discussed is reportedly an MOU — a Memorandum of Understanding. An MOU is not a binding peace deal. It is not a final nuclear agreement. It is not Iran giving up its ambitions. An MOU is basically a document saying: these are the issues we agree to keep negotiating. In other words, it is not an agreement on a deal. It is an agreement on what to talk about next.
