This is Shweta Sanjiv Bhatt, As I sit to pen this down today, on the eve of our Wedding Anniversary, I find myself suspended between juxtaposed emotions! On one hand, being washed with beautiful memories of the years spent together with Sanjiv and on the other hand being gripped by the looming dread of tomorrow, the 1st of February when the lower sessions court in Palanpur is due to pronounce it's judgement in a once again, vitiated trial conducted by them. The judiciary being subservient to this regime has colossally failed us now and again …. Abusing their power and resources to frame and silence Sanjiv by any means possible so that they can exonerate and protect their political masters … Dare we even hope for any semblance of justice tomorrow? For the last 5.5 years, we have been subjected to continued judicial harassment, bearing witness to yet another vitiated trial in a fanciful fabricated case of "drug planting" dating back to 1996. A 28 year old case, which we were once again never party to …. A trial, yet again conducted in a hostile court, which once again deprived us of our basic right to defend ourselves. In a gross violation of justice,  A case of 1996, which was Complainant vs State of Gujarat, was maliciously and unlawfully converted to State of Gujarat vs Sanjiv Bhatt in 2018. Despite the case being closed by the Supreme court in 2000, it was maliciously and illegally tried, with the sole intention of unlawfully framing Sanjiv, who was never party to this case. Yet once again, in a blatant disregard for due process, prosecution witnesses were dropped, we were once again not allowed to call in our list of defence witnesses and in a gross departure from due process, Sanjiv was not allowed to be examined as a witness and provide evidence in his defence. Conveniently, the entire prosecution's fanciful and fabricated story of drug planting was based around an individual who is long deceased and therefore cannot be examined or held to account. Despite yet again, there being no evidence to support the prosecution's fictional story, it is to be seen if the court will dispense justice tomorrow or will it continue to act as a tool wielded by this regime to punish the honest and brave. To what new lows is the judiciary prepared to fall in subservience and servitude of this regime …. to what extent are we prepared to remain silent while an innocent man continues to pay the heavy price for being brave, upright and honest.
