Thoroughly enjoying the conspiracy theory comments on this video when it was just the camera crew and correspondent on shift in the region that we sent there at 7am to hang around by his house to see if he’d come out at some point and speak to us about him choosing to stand for Parliament/if he wants to be the next prime minister. Happens to any politicians when there’s public interest in a story. We were also at an address for Wes Streeting yesterday morning. Never saw him. Don’t overthink it. If I were in charge of the MSM conspiracy, Swindon Town would’ve been back in the Premier League a long time ago.

🔥NEW - buried in the bundle of documents from the Humble Address Keir Starmer was advised by the cabinet secretary Simon Case to do security clearance BEFORE appointment but ignored the suggestion. Case said (If you want a political appointment) "you should give us the name of the person you would like to appoint and we will develop a plan for them to acquire the necessary security clearances and do due diligence on any potential Conflicts of Interest or other issues of which you should be aware *before* confirming you choice" Which feels quite material .....

Special needs reform overhaul - a problem too difficult for our broken politics to fix? Do watch - our deep dive film by @JoeCookJ ** EXC: Big reforms have been discussed (though prob not appear in imminent White Paper). Currently schools can only access per pupil ‘top-up’ funding if the additional cost of SEND support is over £6,000. The first £6,000 must be covered from core school budgets. I'm told government discussed this threshold rising to £40,000-£60,000. DfE says savings aren't the goal -- but can't yet spell out what will change. Treasury staying clear of this early phase of reform - "it's a matter for DfE" ** Schools told £billions for special needs provision has +already+ been distributed. IFS says meaningful reform "will be complex and costly". Nicky Morgan - who oversaw the 2014 system - also thinks change necessary but will cost more. But Labour figures insist mainstream means spending less ** Lib Dem leader Ed Davey says he will lead opposition to taking away rights of parents and children with special needs. The principle of money following an individual child is a "huge principle". Would he fight to protect? "Yeah, 100%. Those legal rights are critical, yes we will. The question of course though, to go back to your initial point, was are EHCPs the thing that we would go to the wall on? No. But we need the legal rights protected, we need the funding, but we need to organise in a much better way. They're looking too narrowly at the thing that's in front of them, they're not looking at a transformation of the system"

The more you think about it, the more extraordinary - and disturbing - it is... A group of hackers have singlehandedly caused a fall in UK GDP. Weeks ahead of the Budget. Can anyone think of a parallel in recent economic history? I can't.

👀Just look at the economic impact of the cyberattack and shutdown at Jaguar Land Rover👇 Output from the entire UK motor industry contracted by 28.6% in September, according to the ONS. Save for the pandemic that's the biggest monthly fall on record...

EXCLUSIVE Rachel Reeves has told me she is looking at both tax rises and spending cuts in the Budget -- in her first interview since being briefed on the scale of the black hole by the OBR. The Chancellor told Sky News that “of course, we're looking at tax and spending as well” when asked how she would deal with challenges in the November 26 Budget. She was speaking to me as part of Sky's year long series on blockages to growth. Do watch this masterful film by @JoeCookJ @tsueyek - for the body language and insights as well as her words. Reeves also appeared to concede the existence of a tax doom loop by saying she wants to break out of it. Asked if she could promise she won't allow the UK economy to get stuck in a doom loop cycle, she replied: “Nobody wants that cycle to end more than I do, Sam.” She said that’s why she was trying to grow the economy, and only when I pushed her a third time did she suggest she “would not use those (doom loop) words” because the UK has the strongest growing economy in the G7. Watch for yourself

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Ricky Hatton.  He was not only a great fighter inside the ring but also a brave and kind man in life.  We shared unforgettable moments in boxing history and I will always honor the respect and sportsmanship he showed. Ricky fought bravely, not just in the ring, but in his journey through life. He truly had a good fight, and we are all blessed to have been part of his wonderful journey. My prayers and deepest condolences go out to the Hatton family and all his loved ones. May the Lord give you strength and comfort in this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
