First BIG rule nerf I noticed 🕵️♂️
"You may" triggers now need to pay cost when they are announced, meaning Leblanc needs to tap and discard on activation. And if you remove the target, there's nothing to copy so the ability fades and you discarded for nothing.

Seeing the trend on socials these days, I'm feeling like a lot of people would feel bad about Riftbound not announcing a banlist soon (today?) 🕵️♂️ BUT, don't forget that rules update in the past also meant : - Falling star/Reflexive triggers nerfs 📉 - Jax + Aphelios Up 📈 - Yone Up 📈 Something like "damage needs to be dealt for a combat to happen" would already be pretty impactful imo, so let's see what they cooked for us ! 😤

I love how when faced with questions they don’t want to answer after eliciting open questions without restrictions they sweep it under the rug and move on. YOU CANT CONTINUE TO AVOID THE QUESTION ABOUT PIONEER. I wish this game even pretended to respect me as a player.

The lack of churn and real innovation in Modern is sign of bad health, magic is a better game with change and that’s a heuristic that I think should be more outwardly taken into account.
Sultai LE (a close to unplayable deck) doing well in one event should not be center topic

@SiegeRyano I want to give constructive criticism on things I’m worried about long term. I’m worried most about casual players being overwhelmed and turned off by a needlessly complex system there is plenty of design space without needing something like this so early on.

Just me or does this xp mechanic in riftbound seem like a total mess. I love the flavor but the execution of having a unit with an xp counter and an overall might counter seems like a really big pain and xp goes high and might can also. Not to mention just bumpin the dice over.

@NvrGunnaStop Have you ever played other games? It’s fairly mundane to denote the number on a piece of paper just as it is to track it on a D20. Are you more worried about dexterity or logistic issues or do you just want to complain?

@PokeTeeJay MSRP should be treated as an early bird discount, not market price. Third party resellers adjust to the current market value, so yea, $120 is a good deal because that’s about 20 under market

Remember that MSRP for Elite Trainer Boxes is $49.99, so when your LCS tries to sell you one for $120, it’s not a “good deal”

@CTCG_DZiden @IamActuallyLvL1 Yeah but you can’t fully take that data seriously because Best Of cards exist. Riftbound the only game you have a 10-20% to be paired into the equivalent of an intro deck at a big tournament

Just so Riftbound players know. If you start banning cards now you will set the precedent forever. One of the things I hate in MTG right now is the community assumption and conversation is ALWAYS about banning the best deck regardless of need because of previous precedent.

Deck with 64% non mirror win rate that has warped the meta to ignore contesting the battlefield in the early game is hopefully enough of a play pattern disruption. Otherwise I’m not sure what we are doing.

As we shared last month, our philosophy is that bans should only be used as a last resort. For us to remove a card from play, there needs to be a strong and specific reason, and we must firmly believe the change will significantly improve the player experience. (4/11)
