The transaction should have been automatically cancelled or reverted. Cases like this are why crypto is still not normie proof. An experienced trader made this mistake. You should not be able to swap $50M and receive only $3,000 in return. This, along with MEV bots, is enough to scare off 99% of newbies.

🚨JUST IN: TRADER LOSES $50M IN AAVE SWAP DISASTER A crypto trader lost nearly the entire value of a $50M transaction during a swap. The trade was executed through the interface of @Aave. The user attempted to buy $AAVE using $50M worth of USDT. Aave CEO Stani Kulechov said the system warned the user beforehand. The trade was far larger than available liquidity. The interface warned about “extraordinary slippage.” Despite the warning, the trader confirmed the transaction. The swap returned only 324 AAVE tokens. Stani Kulechov said the team will try to reach the user and refund roughly $600,000 in fees while also looking at stronger safeguards. Meanwhile, Aave’s Martin Grabina clarified that the problem was not slippage. He explained that the trader approved a quote showing nearly 99% price impact before executing the swap.

@WhaleInsider They’ll need an ICE for that. Mercedes or Ferrari could help. It would be interesting to see how they approached the hybrid aspect as an EV company. Formula E would be a better option.
