Today is Trans Day of Visibility. I’m always a little skeptical of these types of acknowledgement days, because without concrete action, days like today don’t do much to combat the oppression that they’re acknowledging. (1/5)

Lots of mixed emotions today at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire memorial, where we honored the lives lost 115 years ago, but celebrated the enormous victories @CfuUaw won in their contract. (1/2)

I was proud to return to the @CfuUaw picket line today to chat with the union’s incredible organizers, hear from labor champions like @bradlander and @Brianr4NY, and make clear to @nyuniversity that contract faculty deserve a fair contract NOW. When we fight, we win!

I live across the street from this mosque. I bring my two year-old past it twice a day, in complete comfort and safety. It provides an incredible service to the neighborhood, and a place of worship and community for so many people. Enough of this racist fearmongering @nypost
