Wow, modern NFL coaches really seem to prefer passing up easy points for no points at all.

The @NFL should be embarrassed by the lack of 4K broadcast they have in 2025. Even upscaled would be a huge improvement over the terrible quality they allow their broadcast networks to get away with. Watching multiple college games in 4K this weekend was amazing!

@anthonyspiteri I guess I found it interesting because I'm practically the opposite, always want to try something new and different. Not that I don't occasionally purchase the same brand, but I almost always look into alternatives first.

@SightUnseen_ I’m just like that… maybe too loyal. NIKE, Apple, Mazda etc etc… I tend to stick to one. Should be a little ruthless but I think it’s time to cut a few subscriptions that don’t make sense or aren’t performing.

Is it time to jump to @claudeai exclusively when it comes to subscriptions? I'm very brand loyal, and ChatGPT was the original... but what is the point of paying for both of them as I continue to see Claude get better and better. I also default to Claude Code.

@anthonyspiteri I'm more interested in why you are brand loyal. I will use and pay for anything a find useful enough to deserve it, brand loyalty might play a tiny part, but mostly due to familiarity. I'm a Claude subscriber for my personal use/projects and have been for quite a while.

Trying to unsubscribe from a mailing list for a local restaurant only to see they are playing the "find the link" game. The link is technically in that screenshot, but is white on a white background, which makes it a bit difficult to find. Kind of scummy if you ask me.

One of the most surreal experiences I have with AI is when the results it returns are clearly based on my own prior writings.

There's an awful lot of red/orange on the flight status board here at DFW!

@anthonyspiteri You must be incorrect, AI will write all code within 1 year, there's no way it can be stumped by a simple CSS issue today.

Have stumped Claude 3.7 with a Light/Dark theme CSS and JS issue in todays weekend tinkering. Struggling to get the light theme elements for the modal we created while in dark. Looks like i'm going to have to dig in and fix it myself... been going round in circles otherwise.

@MichaelCade1 It's just doing a bit of undervolting, maybe now you can overclock those drives!

Not a great start to the day with the backup NAS in the home lab. I just added 2 x 4TB drives in this as well.

It's quite interesting to observe the furious pace of technical debt creation AI has thrust upon us, but the real question is, will AI also be the path out of that debt?

@anthonyspiteri Ha, I just fought some of my own issues with numpy just a few days ago, trying to get a Coral accelerator working on a new system! Eventually wrangled it into submission, but took a few extra minutes.

Having fun with modules and dependancies for Python this afternoon... often, I hear this is why people stay away from it?

@twavas I think it's the latter. From my perspective, having AI write 100% of code is similar to the constant promise of fully autonomous self driving, it feels like it's right around the corner, but the devil is in the details, making the final result elusive.

@SightUnseen_ Why is AI trying to replace software developers only? Why wouldn't they try to at least HELP to achieve better quality by scaling QA?! Or there's a massive delusion - that good written program always works everywhere?!

If AI is going to write 100% of code, and modern "code" is mostly just high-level abstractions for humans to understand, why wouldn't AI just generate low-level code directly? Is there a future with a highly optimized low-level language that only AI can write and understand?

@twavas It is nothing special, just replaced my 3x Unifi AC-PRO units with U7-Pro version. Router is just mini pc with 2.5GbE interfaces running OPNSense. Hardest issue was finding a WiFi 7 adapter compatible with my ~4 year old AMD gaming laptop, but Qualcomm NCM865 is working well.

It's incredible how far wireless tech as come in 25 years. The first wireless systems I worked with back in the late 90's could do maybe 1Mbps throughput with ideal conditions. Now WiFi7 gets >1Gbps to every corner of my house and can exceed 2Gbps in some cases!

@MichaelCade1 Terminal 1 at SFO used to be a terrible experience. Now the terminal itself is quite nice, good food and drink options, nice seating, quiet. Flying is still flying but it's worlds better than the old one.

@SightUnseen_ I haven’t done SFO that much recently but the international now is pretty swish compared to 5+ years ago.

Sometimes, when I'm walking though terminal 1 at SFO or passing through LGA, it's almost hard to remember how outdated these facilities felt not that many years ago. Perhaps still not perfect, but both have seen massive improvements to the customer experience.
