@havecankles @AusPoll6 Or worse, one of my kids really wants to be a teacher, and he would be good at it, but one way to make a living off that was investing along side it. Now its a less viable way to make a living and maybe he has to do something he doesn’t love but pays better!

@havecankles @AusPoll6 Of course I support that, I support my kids being able to buy a house. One of the best ways I know is if they save and invest what they can to get a deposit. That path just got much harder, now they just have to work more hours for more years!!

@ausstockchick With this Budget a vote for Labor is a vote to be a wage slave for life. It seems that 28% of Australians still dont understand this as when polled they still say they will vote to be wage slaves for life!!

I reckon if we called an election right now. Labor would be gone. All credibility is lost. You can’t make a load of promises, break them and then lie about the reasons you broke them and expect people to respect you. #auspol

@ausstockchick I am not worried one bit about the budget. It will be reversed at the next election when labour loose, Aussies are not stupid....

I am yet to meet anyone who is actually impressed by the budget. Every single person I’ve spoken to has said it is the worst budget in history. Tell me exactly how any young person is going to create wealth in Australia now? Nobody can answer that question. #auspol

@AshPolitik @ausstockchick Those young people all now have far less chance to achieve anything remotely like the financial freedoms the previous generations could achieve. They will now work more hours, for more years, because their ability to compound any savings meaningfully has been drastically reduced.

Young people without the bank of mum and dad, will now have a level playing field. Taxes don't stop wealth, don't take wealth, it makes it fairer. You can still make profit, be successful. You just have to be smarter in investing in productive assets, not lazy capitalist ventures like established property, or exponential share value growth from companies that don't pay dividends. CGT subsidies, paid by working people.

@AvocadoLawyer_ @ausstockchick Indeed, its the people who never even considered planning a path to financial freedom that will feel like winners. They won't be, but they will feel like they won somehow!

@ausstockchick I have spoken to a number of young professional class who are life renters. They have bought into the equity and fairness narrative hook line and sinker. Crazy how the clearly intelligent young people haven't considered the actual nuts and bolts impact on them.

Under Labors new budget the current generations path to financial freedom is harder than any generation before them, apparently in the name of inter-generational fairness! If / when this sinks in I don't see how Labor could poll >10% primary vote. #auspol

@MickamiousG I know they are stupid, but are they so stupid that this backlash is a surprise to them? Surely they predicted this. If they did predict this then they must have some insane game plan to see this through and not chicken out! Or... They really are this stupid?... Dunno which!

Calling it now. By the time the Next Federal Election in Australia comes around, Labor will have done one or two of the following; Prime Minister Albanese, or Treasurer Chalmers will be replaced, or gone. Negative Gearing Reform & Capital Gains Tax Reform will be scraped.

@samstrades Its worse. It dis-incentivises Australian investors from investing in new innovative companies as the expected return is from a now heavily taxed capital gain. Instead investors will seek out existing income producing companies. This kills inmovation in this country - dark times!

US has zero CGT tax if you make up to $50k in gains (total, includes if you earn a salary) and 15% CGT for up to $600k #Chalmers introducing a minimum 30% CGT rate is wild, essentially a regressive tax for low income earners #ausbiz

This terrible for the future of this country. We will be a stale old economy that has nothing new to offer. Its going to be felt by everyone over the next 10 years. In 10 years many will be asking: “What happened to Australia?” #auspol

With Labors big increases to Capital gains tax the incentive for Australian investors is to invest in existing stable income producing companies. Chasing capital gains by investing in new innovative companies is dis-incentivised by the new tax. Dark times ahead. #auspol

Under Labors new budget the path to financial independence has been cut off for many young Australians. They will be working until government mandated retirement age and then just get by on the government mandated Super. Thats the best they can hope for now. #auspol #budget
