@JordanCottle my guess is he previously thrived off having to earn his place in the side, then a new contract, but now both are settled, some complacency has inadvertently + subconsciously crept in so hard to then properly shake them. prob needs the mental reset of a summer break

Conversely I look at Joel going through a bad patch of form and just instively prickle at the idea it's because we promoted our U21s GK coach in the summer and he's not very good. Feels a massive oversimplification. I don't know where to draw the line between those 2 thoughts

Joel's poor form has brought up something that I am internally so conflicted about. Objectively, I think good coaching staff make a difference. It's not always an easy 1:1 correlation but I definitely do think good coaches make a difference, individually & collectively.

would give these 4 another year if #ReadingFC don't go up: - Tuma: still only 20, worth seeing how he develops - Dorsett: decent, versatile backup at L1 level - Elliott: potentially v good if we can keep him fit - Kanu: def has potential, hopefully developed well at FGR
