@RockyMtnDrew310 Thank you. I can assure every prosecutor does their level best in these type of cases. Also every Friday I meet with anyone personally to answer any questions and out YOUR office not mine.

@RockyMtnDrew310 We knew they were not going anywhere & that gave us flexibility to how to fashion an outcome that was victim sensitive & our convictions that complimented the federal prosecution.

@RockyMtnDrew310 Thank you. As prosecutors our cases are based on evidence, witness willingness, trauma and also where we can get the biggest punishment for the defendant who is a risk. They have been custody from the beginning & will be for a long time & probably deported.

Today Iranians are a bit more free than yesterday. They endured state violence, torture & generational repression. Today the region is far more unstable, a vacuum. The responsibility to stabilize is now ours or who fills the void may be worse & those who we gave hope worse off.

@Manhattva Agreed, I will after our office has screened the matter. My original post was a concern was about any violence against any person of faith because such crimes send a chill through that community & no one should go through that: LDS, Muslim, Baptist etc.

Respectfully, Mr. Gill, I think it would show a lot of character if you were to follow up with this post to clarify that this does not appear to be a hate crime. Utah’s already developing a worse and worse reputation, and it’s important that our leaders are willing to tell the truth on these things.
