What historical fact sounds fake but is true?

@HeidiBriones @jeremyct Median means half above and half below.

@BrianV1981 @JDVance Focusing on 1% leads to the question would 10% be too much, or 25%. We agree central planning is not the answer.
I think corporations get a massive benefit of liability shield. I think there should be limits on corps wielding power over individuals.
English

@SimJoeMoore @JDVance Call it what you want, it's anti-capitalist.
However, that wasn't my argument. My argument is that central planners always say "no one will be hurt by this." and then millions die, lol.
English

@todayyearsold They should adjust the price of the first and last day based on the check in and check out time. For 20%, to should get 4 hours extra to check out. If you check out early, get 10% off
English

Hotel check-in should be at 11AM, and checkout should be at ЗРM
Lancesico 🇱🇨@Bornakang
Hotels have to do something about this

@notaproviderMD Maybe they should stop opposing black republicans.
English

I’m begging someone to tell me what power black people are losing. How does lost Democratic Party power equate to lost black American power?
Jamie Dupree@jamiedupree
We might be watching the fastest rollback of power for Blacks in the South since Hayes ended Reconstruction in 1877.

@HeidiBriones @DudeWhoInvests I used to troll my daughter in HS that men were smarter than women because genetics. She was valedictorian and went to U Chicago. When she was done she mocked me and explained how male and female brains are similar and dummies like me credit sex genes. Same vibe.
English

@DudeWhoInvests Hard work typically means smart work. That's why people get frustrated. They're just not as smart as they think they are.
English

@TiffanyFong I don’t care. If he’s a good actor and plays the part well then who cares what’s going on in his pants? I’m waiting for people to ignore that show white is Columbian and Elliot is a girl and just say the movie was good or the movie sucked ass.
English

@Ersin0X @MarkUltramaga Heroin. People go for treatment. They get clean and 90% —and I can’t stress “first” enough— the first place they go after getting out is to their dealer.
English

@TheLizVariant @sully4846 There will be no societal collapse. If there is, the cause will be doomsayers blocking progress.
English

@BrianV1981 @JDVance It’s not happening.
Also
Creating a law to prevent it is fascist.
That’s your argument?
English

@SimJoeMoore @JDVance That's exactly what fascist and communist would say...
English

@itreeye216 @CynicalPublius @Munchensenton That was really smart for Clinton not to get in the way of progress like modern democrats. Also, to be more socially liberal. Don’t ask don’t tell made gay okay as long as it wasn’t in your face.
English

@SimJoeMoore @CynicalPublius @Munchensenton The tech boom launching from the foundation Reagan built is what helped Clinton economicly .. along with capitulating to take on some Republican policy worldview positions..

If you are a Millennial or later, you may be unaware of the near total domination Democrats had over American politics in the 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s.
Yes, the Dems and the GOP swapped Presidencies pretty routinely, but Congress tended to be overwhelmingly Democrat. When Newt Gingrich and his GOP team won a majority in the House in 1994, it was shocking and felt unbelievable.
Now, in 2026, we are truly coming to understand that for decades Democrat electoral victories were built on:
1. Artificial, racist voting district constructs, ostensibly under the Voting Rights Act.
2. Complete control of votes and voting in most large cities.
3. Taxpayer dollars funneled to Leftist NGOs to promote Democrat policies.
4. A mass media with complete obedience to Democrats.
5. Illegal aliens, both for purposes of census district apportionments and illegal voting.
6. Highly questionable voting practices such as mail-in ballots, lack of voter ID, ballot dropboxes and ballot "harvesting."
7. "Errors" in census data that always pointed one-way.
8. The success of calling anyone who challenged their voting policies "racist."
9. Federal government employees "resisting" GOP policies while showing complete fealty to Democrat policies.
Today, however, these electoral crutches are being kicked out one by one, and Democrats are becoming increasingly insane and violent as a result.
Reality is being laid bare, and we are all coming to understand just how artificial Democrat power actually has been.
In ten years they might be a powerless rump party, which suggests a third party supplanting the Democrats might soon be a reality.
It's shocking, isn't it?
English

@SoveyX I think the 60s and 70s were more modern styles. Until 1979
English

@washghost1 It is. No one forces you. However, in the rollercoaster, it’s the park’s choice whether the roller coaster goes when you aren’t wearing a seat belt. And in states, it’s the voter’s choice to charge you a “scrape your body off the road” fee when you don’t wear a seat belt

@MsMelChen @MikeLaChance33 Actual diversity is a strength. Disqualifying ideas based on who said it is a weakness.

English

@BrianV1981 @JDVance Great. So no one will be hurt by this.
English

@JDVance This garbage of "corporations are buying up all of our houses" is complete and utter bullshit.
We have the data.
1% BOZO!

English

@LatFilosof Maybe anything possible already exists somewhere. Otherwise how does anything exist?
God? Big bang? How did either of those things exist?
English

I have no bloody idea what this even means. Can someone please explain to me how ”information” has any causal power at all. Or what information even means in this context.
Kekius Maximus@Kekius_Sage
Nobel Prize physicist Frank Wilczek says matter, energy, and even reality itself may ultimately emerge from information.
