It is with great sadness that I extend my condolences to the family, friends, and supporters of our beloved APC leader, Shitta Kamara, Chairman of APC in Constituency 122. For over 50 years, his dedication and integrity shaped our community. His legacy will endure. My thoughts and prayers are with all during this difficult time. 🙏

Today, we laid Justice Ivan A. Sesay to rest in his hometown of Rotifunk. He was a Judge of the Court of Appeal, Chairman of the Legal Aid Board, and Lecturer of Law- Sierra Leone Law School and the University of Sierra Leone. In private practice and as one of the early pioneers of legal aid in Sierra Leone, he provided pro bono legal representation to indigent citizens and helped build the legal infrastructure Sierra Leone’s groundbreaking access to justice program. May his soul rest in peace.

@tonkolili We the customers will start buying money counting machine so that we do same work with them. I did same in one Africa country I go inside the bank with my money counting machine for me to count in front of them the Cashier. I hope you Guys should apply same.

Rokel Bank want take we lek fools. Any bank customer will tell you cash bundles are often short. Cashiers know few have time to count hundreds of notes. That’s what’s dragging the “good image” of #SierraLeone’s banks into the mud. Rather than shooting the messenger, look within!

@SoeMarrah @tonkolili It is time all customers rise up and make formal and public complaints. It is getting too much and the banks aren't willing to openly investigate.

In Feb. 2021, our law firm wrote to the outgone (or indefinite leave redenomination) Governor of the Bank of SL regarding over-the-counter shortfall payments by most commercial banks (especially those cash bundles in plastic wrappers). Unfortunately, (well the default mode of public institutions in SL), we never got an acknowledgment nor a response. Few months ago, I learnt of a cash payment to a customer by a commercial bank which had some counterfeit new Leones.

@SoeMarrah @marrahandassos Thanks for going to the SC on this. We hope it will be assigned soon and we get a judgement that can be used for strategic litigation purposes.

Our law firm @marrahandassos has filed an action in the Supreme Court of Sierra Leone on behalf of a client for a declaration of violation of right and breach of s.120(16) of the 1991 Constitution as a result of the inordinate delay in delivering judgment in his matter against Air France (SL) @airfrance reserved for judgment since 2017. We empathise with our honourable judges who are heavily constrained in their work by virtue of the lack of needed resources. However, we think the practice of keeping judgments and rulings in perpetuity SHOULD & MUST be a thing of the past. Litigants deserve certainty that when they instruct their lawyers to file their matters in court, they would get a ruling or judgment ON TIME. They should not have to beg or keep fast or hold all-night prayers for what the constitution obligates. We hope to make a strong case against this age-old practice of rationing judgment! We will keep the public updated on the outcome.

@RichardHoney @Fromagehomme I don't agree that the Opposition was ineffective in the last Parliament; infact the main opposition created many obstacles and was one of the reasons the government could not go for a referendum on the outcome of the Constitutional review process.

@Fromagehomme My point was really that in the last Parliament the opposition parties barely bothered to even attempt to hold GoSL to account - boycotting Parliament will make no practical difference

Nice to see SK & the Sunshine Band reunited for a comeback tour. The humility of the council home backdrop is touching, but don’t be fooled. The present incumbent, who once favoured London buses, now alleviates the ignominy of “begging around nations” by favouring private jets.

I used to fill up my weekends with work cuz toxic productivity, see me answering emails as soon as I saw them, client meetings anytime they ask. Just working, always working! Now I relish doing nothing, it’s glorious! I live for joy and pleasure. Relaxation is me!

My eldest brother died today in Freetown. He was on holiday from the US with his family. He had a fever yesterday. He took Tylenol. He went to sleep. This morning he was unresponsive. Daddy said he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Victor was 51. We are heartbroken.

Sa Lone has lost one of its illustrious sons in the person of Dr John Fowell Whitfield. As a gynecologist, many of our young were delivered by his hands & many others from death during pregnancies. A loving husband of 52yrs in marriage, caring father & my dear father-in-law. RIP

Today marks 29 days since Col (Rtd) Sheku Jalloh & 11 others were detained by the SLP👮‍♀️ without bail or brought before a court. Civil Societies & @HRCommissionSL have remained quiet 🤫. We are failing our people, the country and our selves. Sad!!!!!!!

@BBangs1 @AdyMacauley @HRCommissionSL We do not have offices all over the country and so rely on reports made directly to us or via our district human rights committee members in the regions in addition to reports on traditional or social media. We investigate on a daily basis complaints reported to us.

@SimLavaly @AdyMacauley @HRCommissionSL Does the commission needs a report on human violations before they wake up from their slumber?? What a shameful question to ask!
