Expensive diesel smells no different, and expensive fert dust in the eyes feels no different, just burns the hip pocket worse.

@WheatWatcher @Episode3net Expectation or Average yield? NNSW is light years away from sowing which possibly is a blessing in disguise this year 🤷♂️

@MarySmi58886436 We’ll be doing the same this weekend. Rain looks a fair way off but I’d love to be wrong.

@shane_kable @victor_agri Agree no doubt challenging for those (which is many) servicing dept and life off farm but it’s hard to see a +ve gross margin on most dry land crops at the moment.

@SimMcD @victor_agri Not everyone can afford an enforced fallow, but when previously in agronomy do nothing was better than bugger up trying an opportunity crop in a marginal situation. All good if your stock can utilise failed cereals or legume. Have the advantage on winter or summer in my area.

Grim outlook for Australia
Ensemble mean shows a soft rainfall season ahead
Nine models converge to rainfall up 50mm below average
Big trouble brewing for QLD and N-NSW -> starting with zero moisture
Thanks Copernicus

@shane_kable @victor_agri Was only thinking today this dry spell could be a blessing in disguise for winter croppers. Would be nice to get a bit of forage out of the ground though 🤞
English

@victor_agri No… it’s just an opportunity for a fallow while winter crop margins are tight and more summer crop when input prices normalise

I've been watching the vehicles that are transporting thousands of people to our small community over Easter for the last 40kms & the vast majority have 1 or 2 people in them.
Not much thinking or consideration going on.
I hope they're prepared for an extended stay when there's no fuel left 🤪
This servo had no diesel yesterday.
