🚨 BLOODBATH IN SOUTH KOREA. KOSPI hit a new ATH of 8,000 today and then crashed 8.4% in the same session, wiping ₩509 Trillion ($370 billion) in 6 hours. Samsung, which makes up 42% of the entire index, crashed 8.61%

We now have: - negative gearing being phased out over time - major political parties promising to slash immigration - inflation forecast to hit if not exceed 5% with interest rates and bond yields likely going materially higher - a high tax government whose budget promises to put a handbrake on upward financial mobility - one of the highest levels of household debt on the planet - Net propadee yields below 3% or even 2% in some markets And you’re still bullish Aussie propadee at 15x income 😂😂😂

@herr_hilger @710Alchemist Yes you are right. I got these two things conflated. It’s probably more like (5000, 6000, 7000) = 18000 Hopefully it’s significantly more, and more like Sept quarter 2024 (>20,000)

Largo $LGO reported Q1/26 numbers today. Net loss of US$4,73M. Current liabilities sit at US$161M and working capital deficit is US$72,8M. Not looking to buy this as we speak. I don’t see how they will get out of this mess without huge dilution.

If holding money guarantee’s loss of purchasing power, money will always flow into scarce assets. That’s why there’ll always be demand for investment properties, as long as inflation of the currency exists. Because the alternative is losing your savings to inflation. Removing NG doesn’t change anything about the underlying incentives.

The whole premise of buying propadee in this country is that you can sell it to a greater fool for more money Because the yields clearly don’t stack up on a cashflow basis That’s why everyone is up in arms about minor negative gearing changes that are really temporary timing changes So if someone buys a new propadee that is still eligible for negative gearing, who is the greater fool that they will sell to that won’t get the NG benefit ??

@710Alchemist Carbine can easily do 10,000mtu a month with current feed. Hard to know how much ore they have access to.

@710Alchemist Probably 11,500 at Carbine (1500+5000+5000) and 19,500 at Saloro same as last quarter. Somewhat conservative. Contract crushing unknown size so not factoring it in.

@Edark94 Can you cross the t and dot the i for me with regards to: 0 APT exports from China, importing from ex-China China 80% of concentrate production China 90% of APT production ex-China 45% of APT demand. How do the prices equalise unless withdraws the “dual use” legislation?

While China spot prices falls, US discusses $2000/MTU contracts. I do not think these contracts will age well, but also reinforces my view that long-term "bottom" of at least $1000/MTU is a pretty conservative estimate and perhaps even reasonable.

Bank of America Metals, Mining and Steel Conference Very good presentation on #tungsten market. $2000/mtu minimum price on Defence contracts from the Bank of America host was not something I have heard before… $EQR.AX

@ShowerCapAM Yes, very aware. Antimony 12m ago (and longer ago Lithium) had the same S&D dynamics. almost NOT A SINGLE person/Sellside/Inv Bank (except GS and I think MS slightly after) forcast them to roll. The only correct forcaster.... was China Pricing.... BUT, remains to be seen here yet

China #Tungsten APT down another 5.7% today. Down over 40% since early march. Entire Tungsten market hit hard again. Can only think its when, not if, in the very short term, EU prices will start to follow. $AII $EQR $ALM $TGN

@Cyclops_Trader Not sure how 45% of demand for APT (outside of China total) is fulfilled by 15% of APT refining capacity 🤔 but that’s the situation we’re in at the moment

@Cyclops_Trader While I remember, APT exports from China are “zero”. I think until we see this become non-zero by smuggling or otherwise the dispersion will continue (like rare earth pricing is 4x different).

@Cyclops_Trader You might like the tungsten discussion at the Bank of America conference yesterday. I don’t have another way to share it with you aside from the Quartr app which is very good. You might be able to find a transcript elsewhere: web.quartr.com/link/companies…
