The construction works at Gusii Stadium have officially begun. Today, Sunday, 10th May 2026, the contractor started demolishing all the stadium stands . Yesterday marked the final match that Shabana FC played at Gusii Stadium this season. The match against Ulinzi Stars ended in a 0-0 draw. Shabana FC fans must stand with the team always—win or lose. One bad result doesn’t define us, because the spirit of Tore Bobe has risen from tougher moments before. This Saturday, Shabana FC hosts Muhoroni Youth FC at Gusii Stadium starting at 2:00 PM in the FKF Cup. Lately, Muhoroni Youth have taken their noise to Facebook, bragging about their 1–0 win at Raila Odinga Stadium in a past match. But they conveniently forget how Shabana FC humbled them 2–1 at Moi Stadium. Even their team owner, Adagala, sat silently in the stands that day—like an old hyena watching his plans fall apart—as Tore Bobe dominated the pitch. What they don’t understand is this: Gusii Stadium is not an easy hunting ground. Even giants like Tusker FC, Bandari FC, and Sofapaka FC have walked out of Gusii empty-handed. Shabana fans are not intimidating Muhoroni Youth—they are simply stating the truth: Football is not played on Facebook. Football is played on the pitch. Muhoroni Youth can post old 2024 results all week, but once they step into Gusii this Saturday, they must face the reality that Tore Bobe does not spare visitors on home soil. Let the fans come out in large numbers. Let Gusii turn into a sea of maroon. @Dollar__SM @MoraaTimes @Momanyielijah01 @PeterKariukiKE @MuhoroniYouth @zaxoguda @Odhiambo_Brian1 @stanley_kamakei @Mr90Plus @CaptainDominicO @DanChepta #WeShallRise

In Kenya, Shabana FC has become the second club after AFC Leopards to formally recognize its “Ledges”. At Gusii Stadium, the club has set area specifically for Shabana FC Ledges during home matches. The group also runs an organized welfare , led by FKF NEC member for the Lower Rift, Peter “Kasskass” Kamau, alongside FKF Kisii Branch Chairman, Mr. Yobesh. To streamline matchday access, the Shabana Ledges have been issued with accreditation cards that allow entry into home games at Gusii Stadium. The shabana fc president, Mr. Jared Nevaton, ensured that some club ledges receive new Shabana FC jerseys. @AbalaWilliam @husseinmoha @KarauriR @beebree0 #ToreBobe

Former Harambee Stars striker Henry Nyabuto Motego is a man who rekindles sweet memories in the minds of Kenyan football fans of yesteryears. Henry Nyabuto Motego is a household name in Kenya. Whether you followed or did not follow Kenyan football from yesteryears, this name must ring a bell. Henry Motego was born in the year 1964 in Kisii Town Boitangare village in Ogembo location in a family of 8children. He went to Kwintangari Primary school. He attended his high school at Kisii High school, where he was for only one week, before proceeding to Cardinal Otunga high school and later ending up at Itierio Secondary school, a football powerhouse in itself. Itierio high school is the football powerhouse that housed players such as, the late Henry Nyandoro, Sylvester Mageni, Mike Okoth, Richard Otambo, Salim Mabruk, who later featured for Shabana FC. By 1983, while still in Itierio High school he was already featuring for Shabana fc which was playing in the second tier league . Motego become the top scorer and consecutively helped Shabana fc qualify to the top tier league. From the history, Motego’s best goal must have been the one he scored against Gor Mahia at the City Stadium beating the late K’ogallo custodian Tirus Omondi by lobbing the ball past him from the halfway line. Henry Motego was born in the year 1964 in the Kisii county . He went to Kwintangari Primary school. He attended his high school at Kisii High school, where he was for only one week, before proceeding to Cardinal Otunga high school and later ending up at Itierio Secondary school, a football powerhouse in itself. Motego played for Harambee Stars with celebrated footballers like J.J Masiga, John ‘Bobby’ Ogolla, Ambrose Ayoyi and the late Sammy Onyango Jogoo. Motego is probably the most famous footballer to have come from Kisii. Nicknamed Ndovu (elephant), for the way he could charge at defenders. @Momanyielijah01 @MoraaTimes @Jason_Sagini @beebree0 @Codelover9 @Mr90Plus @zaxoguda @PeterKariukiKE #ShabanaMemories

Shabana FC has a unique fan base that has grown with the club over the years. Many of these loyal supporters were once students in schools around Kisii township, and their passion for the team started at a very young age. Back in the 1990s, whenever Shabana FC held training sessions at Gusii Stadium, one would easily mistake it for a match day. Fans would turn up in large numbers just to watch the team train. Pupils from nearby schools such as Kisii Primary, Jogoo, Getembe, Nyamage, Nyanchwa, Nyambera, Daraja Mbili, Nyamokenye, and Nyabururu would even sneak out of school to watch the training . In those days, getting a chance to carry players’ boots was considered a golden opportunity—it was almost a guaranteed pass into Gusii Stadium. Official gate charges were just one shilling (1 bob), but even that was not affordable for some fans like Machana and Kepha AK Nyakundi. To beat the system, they became creative. They identified a “panya route” around the Getacho–Nyanchwa area, which they used to sneak into Gusii Stadium and be part of the experience. These stories reflect the deep-rooted love and commitment that Shabana FC fans have always had—a bond that goes beyond just football. @Mr90Plus @MoraaTimes @Jason_Sagini @beebree0 @thekenyatimes @TheStarKenya @Momanyielijah01 #Shabanafc #FootballKE
