Calling a US$3.6 million “donation” to MPs and Senators by businessman Wicknell Chivayo raises serious red flags. Private cash and gifts to elected officials risk buying influence, undermining accountability and eroding public trust in democratic institutions. He is also known for donating cars daily to people with influence , what’s the end goal ? State Capture?

The ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Francis Makuma Magirayano (30) who is wanted in connection with a case of Attempted Murder which occurred on 18/04/2026 in Chimanimani. The suspect, who is believed to have recently returned from South Africa driving a silver Toyota Fortuner (registration JV 70 SM GP), allegedly shot three victims with a fiream following a domestic dispute with his wife Mercyline Mahembe (26). The victims include his wife whom he shot multiple times on the cheek, hand and thigh, his sister-in-law whom he shot on the leg and a shopkeeper at a shop at Kopa Business Centre. All victims are currently admitted at a hospital in Chipinge. Anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact ZRP National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp on 0712 800 197 or report at any nearest Police.

A suspected fake JMPD officer has been arrested in the Johannesburg CBD after allegedly extorting motorists and pedestrians. The foreign national, believed to be Zimbabwean, posed as a metro cop-stopping drivers and demanding cash “spot fines.” He was caught in a targeted JMPD operation while allegedly soliciting a bribe. Officers seized a fake uniform, reflective vest, and cash believed to be proceeds of the scam. Authorities warn the public that real officers do not accept cash on the roadside. The suspect faces charges of impersonating a peace officer and extortion.
