This is entirely true, if you have no network, and are viewing it as overpriced vacation spot, as an outsider.
It's also the place where you can have lunch with billionaires, end up at their homes, and develop relationships with the people who matter.
It's expensive, traffic is horrendous. Also, one deal or relationship will pay for the summer.
