About last night… 😮 Grateful, honoured and proud to have won Book of the Year 2023 for my book Energize in the Wellness & Wellbeing category at The @BizBookAwardUK last night. It has been an absolute rollercoaster of a ride since publishing my book with @PenguinUKBooks. And while there is more to come, it’s so important to pause along the way to reflect just how far we have come. Onwards and upwards 🚀

The person you'll be many years from now is going to look back at today and think: “That was the perfect time to start." Not because you had it all figured out but because you still had time. And today is the youngest you'll ever be. So don't let the thought of "I should have started earlier" be the reason you don't start now. Let it be the reason you finally do. Because one day, you'll either look back grateful that you began or wishing, once again, that you had.

Everyone is talking about artificial intelligence… How fast it's growing and how much it will replace. But in an increasingly divided world, the more urgent conversation isn't about artificial intelligence. It's about emotional intelligence. Because the real crisis isn't that machines are learning to think. It's that we are forgetting how to be human. We have more information than any generation before us and yet, we seem to have less patience and understanding for others. Artificial intelligence may transform how we work, but emotional intelligence will determine how we live. And in a time when it's easier than ever to dehumanise, the most radical act is to choose kindness, empathy and compassion. To remember our common humanity.

Death has a way of stripping life down to what's truly essential. It reminds us that time is not just passing, it's disappearing. That every "someday" is a gamble and that the things we keep putting off are often the very things we'll wish we had done sooner. Most regrets don't come from what we did. They come from what we didn't do. The chances we didn't take. The people we didn't appreciate. The lives we didn't fully live because we were too afraid, too distracted or too focused on things that never really mattered.

Last night I attended the @EE @BAFTA Film Awards and it reminded me of something we often forget… Sitting in the audience, surrounded by the year’s most celebrated figures from the film industry, I was inspired by the sheer variety of films that had been nominated. From One Battle After Another to I Swear. And from Marty Supreme to Hamnet, whose director Chloé Zhao made history with her film being BAFTA’s most nominated by a female director. Different genres and perspectives, yet they all shared one thing in common… Strong humanist messages at their core. Stories about resilience, connection, empathy and what it means to be human. In a world that feels more divided than ever, film has this remarkable ability to bring us together. You see… Creativity and storytelling aren’t just about delivering entertainment. They’re how we make sense of the world. How we process our struggles, celebrate our triumphs and find meaning in chaos. And last night was a beautiful reminder of that magic. So here’s my reflection for you… What’s one film you’ve seen recently that changed how you see the world? PS. When I told my daughter about the evening, the most important question she had for me wasn’t about whether I got to meet Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet or Emma Stone. It was this… “What was it like to see the KPop Demon Hunters’ stars perform Golden live?!?!” #EEBAFTAs

Most of your problems aren't problems. They're perspectives. Two people can face the same setback. One sees proof they're not good enough. The others sees feedback. One sees rejection. The other sees redirection. The event is the same. The meaning is different. And meaning is everything. We assume the solution to our frustration is external but often, the shift that changes everything isn't out there. It's in your mind.

Sometimes the best thing that ever happens to you is the thing that didn't work out. The job you didn't get. The relationship that ended. Or the plan that fell apart right when you thought everything was coming together. At the time, it feels like failure. Like life is against you. But often, it's redirection. We rarely see it in the moment, but rejection can be a form of guidance. Because sometimes, what feels like falling apart is simply life rearranging itself so something far greater can fall into place. Truth is… Some of your greatest blessings will only reveal themselves in hindsight. The failure that taught you resilience, the heartbreak that taught you self-worth and the redirection that led you to the path you were always meant to walk.

We grow up believing that love is about finding the right person. Someone who fits us perfectly. But real, lasting love doesn't work that way. It isn't built on perfection. It's built on tolerance. The other person will let you down sometimes. They'll have habits that frustrate you, flaws you didn't expect and wounds they're still learning to heal. Just like you. And the real question isn't "Are they perfect for me?" It's "Can we face the hard days together?" Can you choose understanding over blame when things get tough and stay curious instead of defensive when emotions run high? Truth is: perfection doesn't exist in relationships. But commitment, patience and understanding does. And that's what turns love from a feeling into something that lasts.

One hour…. That's all it takes to begin changing your life for the better. One hour to work out. One hour to learn. One hour to build the life you keep saying you want. But most people will say they don't have the time. They forget that there are 24 hours in a day and one hour is just 4% of it. Four percent. And that one hour adds up to 365 hours a year. That's over 15 full days or nine full working weeks. Enough time to read 40 books, learn a language, get in the best shape of your life, master a new skill, write a book or finally build the thing you've been putting off.
