MrBeast had to modify a challenge for the FIRST time after contestants REFUSED to leave a grocery store for $250K despite spending 67 days disconnected from the outside world 😳🏪👀
The challenge is now to EAT the entire grocery store for a chance at $1 MILLION… which could take up to a year without seeing their families 💀

@elonmusk @boringcompany Why can’t @DOGE call out the fraud and throw the people stealing money in jail
English

The @BoringCompany could build a Hyperloop tunnel from downtown SF to downtown LA for <5% of this cost and it would be a technological marvel exceeding any high speed rail on Earth
Hans Mahncke@HansMahncke
If you gave away $126 billion to subsidize free flights between LA and San Francisco at current demand levels, you could fund roughly 150 to 200 years of travel before the money runs out.

@jeffplatt Plus Netflix supposedly paid $150 million for that fight. What would they pay for an exclusive streaming right for WSOP?
Would be a huge payday on top of it
The world needs to hear more of Jeff and Brent’s awesome commentary :)

@SimonYuSEA I’m not sure I get the “nobody watches ESPN anymore” comment at all.
Numbers would prove otherwise?
(Respect your opinion of course Simon, much love)
English

To all the people excited WSOP is coming back to ESPN is going to be in a whole lot of disappointment.
Nobody watches ESPN anymore.
This is 2026.
Just live stream it free on YouTube with no paywall and poker will have the best exposure in history.
WSOP - World Series of Poker@WSOP
BREAKING: WSOP returns to ESPN The Main Event returns to prime time with a three-night live finale (Aug 3–5) and 100+ hours of coverage. Poker’s biggest stage is back. wsop.com/news/the-world…

ESPN’s estimated (entire) user base is <70 million probably much less now as its declining versus
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson’s single fight drew in an estimated 110M+ live viewers.
Just pointing out the views from ESPNwon’t be as good as the nostalgia people are feeling from twenty years ago.
Have ClubGG give rights to a platform with a huge global audience like YouTube or Netflix without a paywall and that’ll achieve the objective of bringing in new “players”
Your audience would increase in size

English

@kalooki @RedDragonPokerz Netflix supposedly paid $150M for the Paul/Tyson fight.
WSOP can probably manage an exclusive streaming right for profit 🤷
English

@RedDragonPokerz @SimonYuSEA The total rake revenue after staff costs of all bracelet events is about 30 million. Running the stream at that scale is probably 250-500k per day. The rake alone won’t pay for the stream.
English

@ScottWood761 @ShannonShorr Livestream it for free on YouTube.
GGPoker can run ads and collect advertiser revenue it’ll be higher views than the Super Bowl.
English

@SimonYuSEA @ShannonShorr YouTube Really ? Who pays for cameras? The production ? The talent ? None of that is free. You say nobody watches ESPN ? I guarantee ESPN has more viewership than CBS Sportschannel, and will broadcast the WSOP more frequently.
English

@EataHoagie @GTO_Diaper @ShannonShorr You want the old guys that sit around hours waiting for Kings and Aces as a result?
What the poker regs/pros truly want are the whale/fish like me to join and that doesn't come from ESPN in today's generation.
Just my two cents. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
English

Yes correct on today’s generation but when you look at viewers over the age of 50 , 60% of them have cable packages that include espn as a core channel , which in return helps grow sponsors in exchange for core views. Younger generations will still scroll, but if espn take this opportunity, their Ig has 26 million followers. Clips will be good for the tik tok generation , So will it be like 2004 …. no , but will espn be good for the game, absolutely! 👍
English

@SimonYuSEA People will watch it on ESPN way more than PokerGo though.
English

@GTO_Diaper @ShannonShorr More exposure than PokerGo 💯 but TV as a source is one of the reasons major sports has been on a decline.
Today's generation is doom scrolling on Instagram or watching Netflix,
I'm just saying this isn't going to be like the year 2004 when all of us were watching cable tv.
English

Hard disagree. Plenty of people still have cable packages, it’s a core channel. You walk in a bar…ESPN is on multiple televisions at all times. While traveling, people often turn their television to ESPN. It’s still the biggest sports network and has ton of eyes on it with a lot of exposure. No paywall youtube is a great addition if/when it happens for more content but the ESPN broadcast is great for poker relevancy and getting new players interested and giving old ones the itch again….
