I absolutely hate the thought of all that porn just barely under the surface of this site. When I’m being most attacked and harassed here and I click on the profiles of the worst offenders, a good 30–40% it’s just pornographic material , and/or making and showcasing their own porn. I’ve tried reporting this and nothing ever happens; apparently pornography is all just good fun to the X admins and protected under its code of conduct. Let’s think about what these poor unfortunates’ algorithms must be showing them: as they scroll, they must be seeing an endless vomit of porn mixed with really nasty politics, interspersed with opportunities to venomously jump on somebody they disagree with (almost always a woman) and gleefully tear them to shreds. Imagine what that does to a person, I think we can all see the tragic results. So, why can’t the site be cleaned up without destroying its admirable free speech imperative?
