Thrilled to present my job market paper at NEWEPS today! Why do Italian mayors native to the town increase tax enforcement, rates, and revenue? Administrative + survey + text data says: information and trust from the community!

@p_malfertheiner Different data reporting system, I have not been able to find the same information about mayors/candidates

@simone_paci How do you explain the blank spots in South Tyrol and Trentino? Is it due to lack of data or due to the fact that the places of birth are mainly urban areas (where hospitals are)?

@HundredChiltern Not at all! I was fairly agnostic on the effects going one way or the other (or nowhere)

#MPSA2022 was the first large in-person conference of my PhD and a huge reminder of covid-times ABD masked so much about our profession! It's been a couple days and I am still feeling so energized!

One side reason it's fine for projects to take long? With time, you can forget enough to tell if what you wrote made any sense
