Senior developer building in public. Writing about AI, code, and things that don't make sense. Occasional contrarian takes.

@naval You keep telling yourself “this is the last improvement and I’ll call it a day.” By the time you realize, it’s daybreak.

Bought blue tick yesterday. I was on 50 verified followers and now I'm on 106. I was on 15k impressions, now I'm on 54k. That's growth💯 no matter how you see it. One brick at a time🙏💪

I quit my job and content sustained me for six months. I had no salary. No backup plan. Just the brand I had been building and the trust I had earned from my audience. People think you need millions of followers before content pays. You don’t. You just need the right audience, the right positioning, and the right strategy. Those six months taught me something important: your brand and content are assets. They work for you even when you’re not working. Eventually, bigger brand deals came. More opportunities opened. But that initial period proved the model, if you build a brand people trust, the money follows. But don't get me wrong, I’m not saying you should quit your job tomorrow. The thing is, the skills to make content work for you are learnable, and many times, you don’t have to figure it out alone. That’s what we’ve built The Aproko Doctor Academy for. For five days of live sessions, we teach you storytelling, positioning, monetization, and how to turn your expertise into a brand that actually pays. Cohort 3 starts May 25th. Early bird is N50,000, and afterwards, N70,000. You can join the Whatsapp group below : chat.whatsapp.com/Jou5HdRSqMH6KB… P.S. Happy New Month. I hope you have a great one!

@MellyWeb3_ The job posting reads like a full engineering department. ₦150k for one person who supposedly knows six different stacks? Come on.

Somebody audited the YC CEO's website after he bragged about shipping 37K lines of code per day with Claude. 78,400 lines of AI slop in production. The man was proud.

Half the April Fools "jokes" from tech companies today are just products they'll actually ship in 6 months.

When people have it out for you, all you need is one little unintentional slip & it won't matter what you say - I say this as an active target. As someone who has ran an initiative with Dickson for 3 years now, He is everything you call him to be, but he isn't a thief.

For the record I don’t own a car, a brand reached out to me last year March and said they needed visibility for their page. The aim was mainly to drive traction to their page which I executed using a strategy.

@aproko_doctor Extreme cold is still better. I've never dealt with extreme heat, but even the little I've experienced was enough to know I wouldn't survive it.

This week in AI security is already a mess and it's only Wednesday. LiteLLM backdoor. npm supply chain hijack. Claims that Claude's source got pushed to GitHub. Codex prompt injection. All these incidents and I haven't even finished my coffee.

Today, I spoke at a United Nation's event, for the first time. I was a panelist at the World Wildlife Day event, organized by the United Nation's Office on Drug and Wildlife. The theme is "Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods" I did not only impart, I learnt a lot and made great connections too.

Google just dropped Veo 3.1 Lite. Five cents a second for 720p AI video through the Gemini API. Less than half the cost of Veo 3.1 Fast. If you're an indie dev building anything with generated video, this changes what's actually affordable to ship.

@GergelyOrosz I get protecting your brand. But mass DMCA takedowns on forks of your own public repos? That's not trademark enforcement, that's panicking. Especially from a company that keeps talking about earning developer trust.

One thing about Anthropic that is hard to unsee: they are anti-open source, and anti-open ecosystem. Right now this DMCA takedown is clearly a mass takedown from them for any and all projects that are called "claude code" - ignoring that they DO have a (limited) repo called "claude code" that gets forked by the same name...
Daniel San@dani_avila7

Got this email from GitHub, possibly related to the Claude Code codebase leak but the repo they're referencing is a fork of Anthropic's own public repo It's not the codebase one, it's a repo with Skills, examples, docs, etc. If you want more details, here's all the info: github.com/github/dmca/bl…

@aaliya_va This is the pitch for basically every AI tool now. "We do one thing really well." And then six months later, they've added 14 features and the project has become unmanageable.

Most AI tools try to do everything, and end up doing nothing exceptionally well. That’s fine for experiments, not for real products. Oumi changes that. It helps teams create custom AI models built for their exact use case — faster, simpler, and more cost-effective. Instead of relying on one-size-fits-all AI, you finally get full control over how your AI performs and delivers results. Huge launch by @Koukoumidis and the team!
Manos Koukoumidis@Koukoumidis

🚨 The era of general-purpose AI is over. Today we're launching Oumi. 🚀 The platform that lets any team build custom AI models — in hours, not months. Just describe what you need. Oumi builds it. #VibeML Higher quality. Lower cost. Fully yours.
