However, if you look at manufacturing 'families', it's only 4th The VW group - which includes the likes of Skoda, Audi and Tesla - is comfortably in 1st place having sold over twice as many EVs as Tesla In fact, the VW group is responsible for 23% of UK EV sales in 2025 so far

So, the SMMT's stats for March are out Headline is that March saw the record for EVs sold in a single month broken - by a country mile But here's a thread on some of the other stuff that stood out for me

@greenstripshow @Tesla @UKVolkswagen £90 is steep but it is essentially a data sim for your car. £30 a year would seem pretty fair to me.

What an absolute rip off !!!! £90 for a year to check the charge on the car & start the air conditioning remotely & heating IF it came with say free mobile data via its sim so I could do what @Tesla do & watch netflix etc while charging for £10pm then fine But @UKVolkswagen

@SimsBSims That’s a massive detour if your heading to The Devon or Cornwall North coast. M5-A361-A39 is the route in question.

The EG group chargers in Barnstaple seem to be live. And the price seems good if Correct.

I think anyone travelling South down the M5 heading to the North Devon/Cornwall coast these are the only High powered chargers once you pass Bristol. Without taking a big detour! Someone will now correct me lol

Really great two days hosting the @SubseaCables Cable Awareness Workshop at @NOCnews. I think everybody learned a lot and I got to touch some of the most broken bits of cable I’ve ever seen. Props to @MikeAClare for doing all the work and giving me half the credit.

Looking yesterday at flight prices for the May half term week to get us to the caravan in France, it was crazy money. So I looked at P&O from here in Hull, £1200 return with a decent cabin. So against my better judgement, we've gone with the tunnel. Three hotel nights, with 5 nights at the caravan, but a total of £700. The driving will be a total ballache, but you've got to do, what you've got to do, to give your kids their holiday.

The Vendée... so without charging you're looking at a 7 hr drive from the tunnel. We've done Portsmouth to St Malo. Ideal for the caravan, as it's just a three hour drive. Supercharge in Rennes at a nice Novotel, photos below 👍 But expensive, & cabins not the best. For yourself I'd think it's the best option for Rennes 😁
